I'd say Keyloggers or something. If you type in credit card info, or passwords someone can hijack your identity or something.

Now for the joke, I second Windows 10.

Barnacles needs to chill about Windows 10. It's not as bad as he makes it out to be

I understand where he comes from.

Microsoft collects data the same as Google does to market to people. At least that's my opinion from the features he goes over.
I personally don't like having windows sending data, and I don't want candy crush games on my system, or windows doing things without me telling it what to do. But I see your point. He does seem to be a bit Tin foil Hat (As he pokes fun at in some videos.)

I think that this paper from Kaspersky might answer that question (equation group): https://securelist.com/files/2015/02/Equation_group_questions_and_answers.pdf

If that doesn't work, here's a list to read through (ANT catalog): https://nsa.gov1.info/dni/nsa-ant-catalog/

I'd be careful if I were you. If you click the second link you will become an "interesting target" as the kaspersky white paper alludes to.

Probably a fake chromium browser my friend got from some shady website as a "bonus". It was pretending to be a browser but kept installing adware on the pc. They had no antivirus or antimalware.

I would have reinstalled windows but that laptop was a absolute lowest performance pile of shit, so i told him to get a proper computer, and not go on shady websites. (i think he was trying to download a n64 emulator)

I would say NSA/Windows, or adobe flash.

This.

Ransomware, as it renders your PC useless.

I personally don't mind botnet operators as long as they keep their shit in the background, and have their stuff sweeped up in the next antivirus signature update, but ransomware, god damn, I just want to strangle those fucks.

I saw a good one the other day. Malware... on a TV. Would cost $350 to the malware guys to get rid of it, and $250 to default it from the TV company. Talk about lose/lose.
