Alrighty.  I'm installing it.

How long does it take to install?  It seems to be stuck.

Alright, installation is done.

Ok, what do I do now?  I entered my user password, and now it's giving me this:

How do I do that?  I don't know how to connect my server to a network.  The only thing I have is a router that's hooked up to the server's ethernet port.  The router is not configured.

I was gonna make that router into a range extender.  How do I do that?  I have to unplug it from the server and bring it upstairs.

Server connects to the network like any other system

Plug the router into anouther computer, and open the web management thing and change it to a wireless bridge(or what ever that model calls it)

My parent's PC.  I didn't use my gaming PC, as I used it's monitor on my server.  So I got to this weird access page, but I don't know how to make it into a range extender.

Just get ethernet cable to the server from a switch or the main router. A bridge will just make the network slower.

Ok, I'm using an already configured router instead.  Can I eject the flash drive from my server?

I second this. If your router has a dhcp server running (which most consumer router do out of the box) it should have handed out an ip, the gateway and subnet mask out to your server. A bridge (if I understand correctly) will only lead to more advanced setup since the ethernet cable from the 2nd router to the server would be on a different subnet than your wifi's subnet.

Unless you are playing/ want to play really clever tricks with the routing tables on your second router, go with cable connection.

Ok, so that router I'm using now is my family's old Verizon router.  For some reason it's not providing internet.

The problem is, the main router is upstairs.  My server is in the basement.  My dad doesn't want me plugged into the main network, nor does he want my server upstairs.  I'm trying to put a network in the basement to connect my server to.

Do you have a computer down in the basement with wifi and ethernet?

Yes.  My gaming computer.  The problem with that is that I'm using my gaming computer's monitor on my server.

Plug a ethernet cable from your gaming pc to the server. Then setup a bridge on your gaming pc,
