Something tells me that if you could run benchmarks inside of BIOS you would.  Who needs an operating system getting in the way of higher scores, right?

Just install Windows 10 on a separate drive so that you can run Superposition, it's not that hard xD

i have 14 ssd's, 12 of which i use for benching, the separate drive bit is definitely not my issue with windows 10 :P

Messin a bit with the little Ryzen.  I'll take the right screenshots when I get everything dialed in.

EDIT:  I was just checking HWBot, and there are guys hitting 5k+ on 1080 extreme with between 2100 and 2150 on the core, and from the looks of the temps, they're either on air, or a really crappy watercooler.  I must be missing something.

Well I got 4806 score with gtx 1070 ...Sure I did a lot of optimisation for it, but your GTX 1080 at 2150 should be faster than my GTX 1070.

Valley is more of a CPU benchmark at this point, so scores heavily depend on the CPU :D

@Rulzz Run Superposition instead

You should do a real run with some gpuz screens. Would be the fastest 1080 we've had on superposition...

Um, my 7700k + 1080 SLI did 11,632 at 87 FPS average.  That works out to 5,815.5 per card with a 42.5 FPS average per card.  :D

Meant let's see that 5815.5 with just a single card. No maths involved.

I'm good.  SLI is my thing.

In this example, if 2 cards run at x8 + x8 are doing what they do in SLI, I feel confident that one card (the better of the two) in x16 will do no worse then half of the SLI score.  I might be wrong (doubt it), but let's subtract 300 points from half of my SLI score for good measure and call it a day.  lol

Then disable a card and do it.

I'd be happy just to see 5k.  That'd put me in the top 5 in HWBot for single 1080s.  5.3k is the highest there....highest I've gotten in my playing, was that 4.7k.  Seems like there should be more there, but.....so far, no luck finding it.

After looking around, I'm not sure I'd get even close to that.  Insert foot in mouth.

I ran that when the 1080 SLI was paired up with my 7700k on the bigger loop.  They are now paired with my new (replacement) 5960x for a nice little second gaming rig.  Much smaller loop, but it's still a pretty great setup overall.

I wonder if the CPU core clock plays into it some......it doesn't seem to be holding me back, but.....there's gotta be something.

I think I did my last 1080 runs with the 7700k at 5.4 GHz, but it might have been at my 5.3 daily. Who knows at this point?

My ambients are currently warmer then I care for these days due to summer time an me not wanting a $500 electric bill (big house).  If I keep the electric bill down, I can buy more Skylake-X parts. :)

Gotta get SLI working on superposition and re-run with these titans.  I've also been pretty dissapointed with the valley benchmarks but I can't complain I guess when I can max every game at 3440x1400 lol. Rig has been apart for awhile waiting on parts finally got it back together in a new case while I work on the MacPro CaseMod again. Will be doing a full loop hard pipe with ryzen this go round. Maybe I'll upgrade to x299 in this rig but the 4790K is doing all I need at the moment.
