Out of curiosity, what clock have you gotten that 6950X to so far?

I'm running 4.5 on all cores at the moment and it seems to like it!  The power is pretty mind blowing.  2344cb without cache or mem overclock.

What voltage? Any idea what a good 24/7 OC is going to be?

It's at manual 1.4v right now.  I crashed at 1.3 so jumped straight to 1.4 as I explore the chip.  It's going to be somewhere in the middle I'm sure.

4.5 is where I'll stay until I learn more.

Also, spreadsheet updated. As always, let me know if I've made any mistakes.

Single core performance is noticeably higher than my 5960x, which was a bit of a freak as it was.  4.5 = 4.9  when comparing Haswell-E to Broadwell-E in Cinebench R15 in single core performance.

Sooooo, you need 4.6 to be better than my 5960X? :D

Also, I'm pretty impressed with this Tri-Crossfire setup so far. Somehow, I haven't noticed any of the terrible stuttering that most people talk about. 29k in Firestrike 1.1 with no OC is pretty good too. Only thing they don't really do is 1080p gaming, good thing I run an ultrawide.

I bet they look good in the case!  29k graphics score?   Sounds like a great setup!

The 6950x has two more cores so it would be even less than 4.6.

29k overall, 45k graphics. They do look good, although not as good as Kingpins.

Was meaning you needed 4.6 to beat my 5960X in single threaded, I know I'm getting smashed in multi-threaded, haha.

That's a ridiculous FireStrike man!  I hope to compete.

So I'm trying out this new thing on the spreadsheet. I have added a new leaderboard that showcases the systems with the highest average FPS over the main 3 resolutions (1080p, 1440p, and 4k). I am hoping this will encourage everyone to submit scores for all 3 resolutions, as 1080p has just about lived it's life cycle. With the 1080's coming, the 1080p benchmark is about to become less useful.

If you'd like to be added to the new leaderboard you need to submit scores for all 3 resolutions. At this point in time, DSR or Virtual Super Resolution can be used for resolutions your monitor cannot display. I have gone through and added some scores from past tests, and will continue to add more from people who have submitted all 3. From now on, if you want to be added to this leader board, please submit all 3 scores in one post and request that it be added. You can still submit scores separately for the individual resolutions, none of that is changing.

If you guys have any suggestions, let me know.

Also, @done12many2, where's those 1080 scores...

@Masada02 Outstanding idea!  That's the Commodore owner in you coming out!

Gentlemen, by the end of the day.  Setting up this 6950x has taken a bit longer than expected.

Can't wait for it!

Would be nice to see multiplie benchmarks:

1.) No SLI and no OC

2.) No SLI but with OC

3.) SLI without OC

4.) SLI with OC

I know I'm asking for a lot, but you will get Thumbs Up for it :P

Can I even run it at 4K with a 1440p monitor? I've tried to set custom resolution but on the score screen it still shows as 1440p EDIT: Got it... gotta use VSR

also I believe my 1080p score is underwhelming for the kind of system it is? - The GPU utilization is quite honestly piss-poor

God my Win 10 install is so slow. That should be enough to put me on the average FPS sheet, then I need to sort my 1440p and 4k scores out

What is clock is your CPU at? 1080p is going to be heavily dependent on the CPU.

Crossfire and CPU bottlenecks. If you can cut your active cores down to 4 and get any increase in core speed because of that then go for it, Valley is badly multithreaded and loves good single thread speeds. A Skylake Pentium with an unlocked BCLK would be perfect for this benchmark as a cheap rig

4.2, didn't clear the background tasks either

you see... that's why I do not greatly enjoy the Valley benchmark, it's supposed to be a GPU benchmark but it's so heavily single core CPU performance reliant...

In a perfect world it would use all 6, right?  :D

My best scores with my 980 Tis happened when I disabled 4 of the cores on my 5960x and cranked the remaining to 5 GHz.  @Masada02 has called my 5960x everything but a 5960x since.  That's why I needed to move on to the 6950x.
