Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

Jumper118

Well I WAS going to play around with my old ATI 4870X2's while in-between cards, but I forgot that they don't support UEFI so they don't work in my modern system. Sooooooooo, laptop it is until I buy either Polaris or Pascal.

Did you manage to sell the other 980 Ti?

Ya. Kinda bummed I can't mess around with the old cards, but I'll be fine. AMD needs to hurry up and release Polaris so I can decide what I'm going to do.

Did it sell when I think it might have? :D

I'll be heading up to Micro Center on Friday to grab a couple of 1080s.  I hope they have the EK blocks in by then.

Yes, haha.

Well I guess you'll be setting some new records next weekend. I really want to buy some Polaris cards before I most likely jump on the next Titan so those need to hurry up and get released.

Hey bud, when you're feeling down just go fire up that LS3.  Problem solved!  Hell, you don't even need to fire it up.  Just look at it.

Whenever I get bored or pissed, I go for a ride.  The 4dr grocery getter is my go to Micro Center car :D  I get to pick up new parts and have a fun ride all in one!

Of course! I can't be bored playing around with that thing. I'm currently installing blackout pieces to get rid of all that chrome. Just waiting on some more parts from Australia now.

I did some more tweaking to my old 1080p submission and took both @Masada02 and @done12many2 advice and pumped up the CPU overclock to 4.8ghz and maxed out my GPU overclocks. I now see how overclocking can be soo dramatic!

New Submission!!!

CPU: i7-6700K @ 4.8Ghz

GPU: EVGA Reference 980Ti's SLI x2

Avg FPS: 169.4

Score: 7089

Setting: Extreme HD

Nice work man!  That is a hell of a score and way to push it.  A 518 pt jump is no easy task when you were already overclocked to begin with!  You'll be knocking me and @Masada02 off the top soon enough.

Very nice! I was getting worried that no one else was going to break 7000 on here.

That .6Ghz increase on my CPU really helped out alot! Hopefully I don't fall too far down the ranks once new scores get posted with the 1080 lol

I'm excited to see the 1080 and 1070 scores compared to our top 5 spots in the spreadsheet.

If all goes as planned, I should have a couple of 1080 scores up by next weekend.  EK said the water blocks would be ready by release so it's just a matter of whether or not my local Micro Center will have them in stock.

the newer gpus wont be much faster because valley does use the compression thing, you will need very very high cpu clocks to get higher on 1080p

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

I'm guessing the 1080 is gonna hit massive CPU bottlenecks, especially with an overclock. So 8k will be broken but it'll need hefty CPU clocks behind it to get there, SLI 980Ti's already have pretty bad average use age across a full run

LTT's fastest Valley 970, slowest Valley Basic and Extreme HD scores

Desktop || CPU - i5 4690k || Motherboard - ASUS Gryphon Z97 || RAM - 16GB Kingston HyperX 1866MHz || GPU - Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 *Cough* 3.5GB || Case - Fractal Design Define R5 || HDD - Seagate Barracuda 160GB || PSU - Corsair AX760

yes pretty much. 1080p will become irrelevant with these newer cards, kind of like running 3d mark01 on any modern gpu. the cpu will always be the bottleneck.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. I can't seem to get my 4K setting to work... I select custom and enter 3840 X 2160 and run the benchmark but at the end it shows 3440 X 1440 which is my monitors native rez... Is that normal and I'm actually running it at 4K? Even tho it doesn't show it?

You need to upscale your desktop resolution to 4k or higher for the setting to work in Valley.

Do you know how to do that on the ASUS PG348Q?

You are going to have to set your desktop resolution to a 16:9 res then the DSR menu should show up in the Nvidia control panel. From there, just upscale to 4K from 1440p. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

So i was able to change my desktop resolution but it still goes back to my native resolution once the benchmark starts.  This is getting annoying. I will need to see if i can do this on a different monitor
