Haha, I'm not sure it's worth it.

You know, although the 4870x2 is a dual GPU card, it only consumes about as much as a single Fury X (~280W). As crazy as it sounds, they just don't consume much compared to today's cards.

What got me was that 55nm process. I had completely forgot about that and it's just so far off from what we have today. These things really are getting old, even though 4-way Crossfire support is still just as bad today as it was when these came out. Maybe DX12 will remedy that.

So um, I got bored...

ATI 4870x2 Crossfire:

Ignore the GPU-Z reported speeds. These things throttle as soon as there is no load on them. They run at 750 core, 900 mem.

EDIT: I should note that there are only 2 4870x2's for a total of 4 GPU's, not 4 4870x2's.

wow they are beast :P

SO BEAST

so much so that one of them is dying because of those beast temps

Really though, 3 years of daily gaming at 85-90C load doesn't bode well for lifespan. On the bright side one of them still works without artifacting all over the place.

This worked just as well. If not easier. Just press Windows Key and Print Screen.

Ghetto watercooling with AIO or go home. :P Find a way to get one card to work with a 240mm aio... I want to find a way to get a aio to stay in place on my 480 and use the reference part for cooling vrms and its phase plate for the vram. :P So basically a hybrid cooler for fermi.

Jumper118 Do you think we could have a tab added to the document for Unigine Heaven benchmarks?

There is a separate thread, but it died about 3 times. i could add it, but i get the feels that with dx12 coming out there will be a new one soon, so i think its best to start then. might be a valley 2.0 as well.

nice monitor, but its need to be ultra, x8 aa and gpuz to go on the sheet!

Run the extremeHD preset. How are temps? Could be throttling. Do you have stuff running in the background?

I thought that might be the case, I'm planning on building a new system soon anyway, I'll just save some money by reusing the 760.

Since I got my 7770 back I thought I would push it again. At 1500MHz on the memory it wasn't artifacting. :P Also I had to get a flathead screwdriver with coffee filter over it and chisel the old paste off... Yes, I DID do that. It was the only way it was coming off.

Think its the fastest 7770 on here now.

^ That wouldn't validate due to gpu-z 8.4 and not 8.5...

^ Pretty amusing if you dare look.

Also why does this card have 7 phases?
