Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

After an hour of fettling, i got 3375, i wonder where that puts me on the leaderboard.....my GPU was boosting to 1618 too :)

q

If you're basing your GPU speed off the speed it tells you in unigine, it's most likely wrong. Both of your scores are really low for 1600+ clock speeds which is why I don't think you're actually at 1600+, I would expect you to get atleast 85 fps average

Unigine doesn't display clock speeds right, when I'm at 1600 mhz it tells me I'm actually at 1725 or something like that.

Make sure to just leave GPU-Z running in the background during the benchmark and then click sensors tab and where it says "GPU Core clock" next to it will be " x mhz" just click that til it says "max" and it will tell you the max frequency that was achieved.

Thanks, never knew that....so i ran it again and got 3378 @ 1491.9Mhz, the card wont go past that without a voltage mod.

Volts don't really help maxwell on air / water, you may get a tiny tiny bit more mhz, but it's more temp related than anything.  Once you get those temps really really low, it will start liking volts & overclocking more and more.

how can you have a vapour X and not OC!??! you could get another 5fps out of it easy! i would love it if you tested it in your new skylake rig and oc to the max, before you retire it or sell it.

i has it, but it isn't much use tbh. 71c is the point at which it dies, no matter what speed its at. the colder it gets the faster it goes. it needs ln2 or a water setup like Lays, phase is no good because then the vrm would overheat instead.

its still on tweak town and somewhere else. ;)

I didn't forgot about paying you for the Thermal Paste. I gotta a new PSU cause mine is running at 12.7-12.9V now on the 12v rail :c

Hang the card out the window.

Use massive PCI-E extenders.

i think the only thing that you might need to change in the bios is the power limit. other than that its fully unlocked with that hwbot afterburner.

i'm not so sure. i'll put some thermal grizzly on it before i bench it again as well. i think i just put cheap ceramic stuff on it last time. also i'll try and find some screws to hold it together better as well because the tape isn't working any more.

Because only one fan on the cooler works and it gets pretty high temps and very loud when under load even at stock clocks.

just ghettorig a case fan onto it and put the working fan at 100% that should keep the temps down. also, do you know what the stock voltage is? because you can probably under volt it and overclock it higher or overclock it on the stock voltage, especially the memory.

MSI Afterburner didn't detect my card properly - it saw it as an "MSI R7970 Lightning BE" - so it couldn't read the voltage, but GPU-Z said it hung at up to 1.2V at overclocked load. I ghettorigged a be quiet! Silent Wings I had laying around under the card and put the fans at 100%. Funnily enough the second non-functioning fan hopped into gear at high load on 100% fan speed, and stopped spinning again after dropping the fan speed. Might have a bad connection going on there somewhere. Anyhow I managed to get the Valley benchmark to run at 1225MHz core and 1600MHz memory (from the base 1050MHz Boost on the core & 1500MHz on the memory) without crashing, but I saw some nasty artifacting and got a worse score. My best results where at 1200MHz on the core and 1600MHz on the memory. My Extreme HD score jumped from 1800 to 2048, fps from 43 to 49 and with my ghetto cooling setup that sounded like a vacuum cleaner kept temps under 65C for the duration of the benchmarks. The card overclocked like a beast even though its ASIC score is just 65.1%! Shows how much ASIC score matters :P

Can't compare AMD asic to Nvidia ASIC :P

Specailly since my R9 2870 Gaming is 64% asic and is the fastest R9 280 on air in the world :D

Shows how much ASIC score matters :P

good stuff that is much better! have you tried slowing the core down to around 1175 and see how much higher you can get on the memory, my memory was able to get over 1800 without artifacting, as long as i keep the core speed and temps down. stock GTX900 series cards are clocked at 1750 on the memory. go up in 25mhz jumps though, you might get a lower score to start with but i think if you can make it past 1725ish then you will get a higher score, even with a lower core speed.

I did try bumping up the memory clock to 1625 during my overclocking while I was at 1125 or 1150 on the core but my system hardlocked halfway through the benchmark so I knocked it back down.
