Its gonna be tough to see then until you get a board for it. You don't need anything overkill. An Extreme 4 or some other sorta low priced Z97 mobo will be enough for it.

Yes it's used. I will just buy a 4770K from amazon. I will flash the BIOS and then return it.

You lose money as you get charged for shipping even as a prime member. I had to send back a faulty H110 I was charged 15$ by them for shipping.

Oh. Decided to run valley basic on that old gateway laptop... 8 years old too, still isn't mine yet, but I thought why not?

Yeah, it's running Vista... And look at them temps... It wasn't throttling and rising by 20C every 5 seconds. I also accidentally hit my finger on a part of the heatsink on the exhaust... While it hit 100C... Ouch. I think I need to replace the 8 year old tim. Most people see load in the 60s on both CPU and GPU, not idle from 70-80C... On the bright side, the entire cooler is 100% copper.

I was bored since my internet was down, and matter in fact it still is, and thought, "Hey, the last time I powered on this card, it was in my computer with a psu that should've fried it... Eh, might as well try it, even though it bluescreened instantly and never had a display from the card the next time I booted and reinstalled drivers." So I pop it in my other rig now that it has a EVGA 600B so it can actually power the damn thing, and woohoo it lives...

They don't charge for shipping when you're a prime member if you buy it new, but I think used they probably do.

Well, internet is back finally. Damn this card is fun to mess with, also, @vinyldash303 you should send me marshmallows, I can bench the card and get food.

 

Anyway, I must say, this card did pretty well, especially with it being on a stock cooler. :D Would prefer something to replace it though...

Get the mini marshmallows and put one on a toothpick, and then wedge the toothmick in the screw for the DVI connector. Its perfect. You'll be more slow-cooking it than roasting it tho. :P

flip it around every once in a while. For me it took about 30 min so I flipped it around.

Anyone have any ideas as to get these other little 4 screws off of the 480s heatsink just so I can replace the tim on it? The last owner was an idiot, I understand the screws are soft from the heat, but two came stripped very badly, and best of all, he put Loctite on the screws... Help me pls. :(

So @Jumper118 when I did my 6950 run for the thread it wasn't unlocked....This means that the card wasn't under its full potential.

i would hope the screws aren't soft from the heat lol. they would have to be well over 300c :P
