Zen architecture Summit Ridge will be divided into 3-5-7 three levels, corresponding to the home of the 3-5-7, has been clear AMD want to sell SR7 1500 yuan +, SR5 and SR3 in the figure is about 1500, but estimated Just put the signal, do not have to seriously.

Release time, the following time I have been erased, I can only say that AMD would like to SR7 followed AM4 APU release, but estimated that the final will be delayed, we all understand, not delay is not AMD.

In addition, although AMD claims SR7 TDP lower, but, AMD AMD AM4 designed for the official version of the cooling fan, the highest one is 140W TDP. AMD is expected to say that the conscience of the player to help high-performance fan overclocking, might as well seem to want to "official overclocking" to leave room.

Seems like, if true, they are going to make the naming scheme similar to what intel has. I imagine this is to let consumers easily guesstimate how a processor compares to intel. Im not opposed to that.

Let me translate this into non-broken English.

Summit Ridge will be divided into three tiers. AMD has made it clear that they will sell the SR7 CPUs starting at 1500 yuan or more, and the estimated prices for SR3 and SR5 are presumed to be less than 1500 yuan.

While the release date is not officially known, AMD stated that they would like to release SR7 after the launch of their AM4 APUs. While the CPUs themselves have lower TDPs, the coolers can support a maximum of a 140 watt TDP. AMD likely designed them with overclocking headroom in mind.

Eh, remember this is in yuan, so it's probably not accurate to its potential USD price.

Look at the second graph, the blue is a i3-6100 (51W)

Well they already use R9, R7, R5, so why not? But yeah, they should have gone with SR or even better, Z9, Z7, Z5.

eh good on them to use a naming scheme like this, probably for the best for them. i just hope its somewhat accurate to compare and not just complete bollocks because that would damage their brand. like intel did by renaming M to i3 i5 and i7 ffs.

Didn't realize SR7/SR5/SR3 was the same as i7/i5/i3. Silly me.

I should have realized the RX 480 was also the same as the GTX 1080. Silly me.

The 3-5-7 thing is popular in marketing in all sorts of product ranges. Who cares about the name... just give up price, performance, and erm... purchase-ability.

If AMD makes a dual core costing any more than 120 bucks I'm going to Putin to beg for some of their domestically produced Russian chips.

"SR3" better refer to a 4 core if 220 is the target price.

My wallet can afford it, but my conscience can not.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

The R has always been there, the X is referring to 10, the R9 was their latest GPU series release. When the companies were competitors they did borrow naming schemes and come up with new ones to help marketing.
