He kinda tried to keep the boat afloat a bit, Obamacare can be qualified as "Well that's something" Territory.

And of course then there's the drone shit and Syria but I guess we can now blame Hillary for it and just add that to her list of offences during the indictment.

He also created a weak, broken healthcare bill that imposed on the lives of millions of people, broke the backs of the poor and caused premiums to shoot through the roof. Oh, he also killed people, across seas, innocent or not. What else did he do? Debt increase? Check. Oh, he also took care of the anti-gay/equal marriage DOMA that Hillary's POS husband signed in. He also ruined foreign affairs, made us a laughing stock, created ISIL, broke Islamic states further and sat on his hands after ward. What else is there? Very little.

Nah, ISIL was not in existence prior to 2008. I think you are confused because the previous terrorist cells in the region merged with the violent rebels after we ruined their countries (further) and became ISIL, from thereon they were Saudi Arabia funded. Like most terrorists.

He has lowered the carbon dioxide emissions, more solar and wind power, less coal production, US is less reliant on importing oil, there are less Guantanamo Prisoners, less murders, more handguns produced, and war in the middle east.

 

There is more both of the good and bad things but that is some of it.

1.  Through the ACA he helped a lot of people get healthcare coverage who otherwise couldn't afford it (poor), or were barred from getting it due to pre-existing conditions.  However at the expense of increased cost to others, largely the middle class.  

**Please note that the ACA was based on a republican proposal in the 90s that was tweaked and implemented in Mass. under Governor Romney.  **

2.  He promoted science and education especially to minorities and women young and old.  Though he rarely pushed for increased funding unless it was related to climate change.

3.  He had the justice department assist with challenges of multiple state laws against same sex marriage that brought it to the supreme court; which ruled in favor of same sex marriage.  Though he waited until after he got re-elected to do that when public opinion had already shifted in favor of same-sex marriage

4.  His EPA regulations have forced car manufacturers to increase the fuel economy of their vehicles and reduce emissions lower than what the E.U even requires.  While also cutting down on  coal usage and mining; favoring natural gas.  

5.  Got our troops out of Iraq in accordance with the time tables established during the Bush administration. 

6.  Provided military support during the Libyan coup d'é·tat without congress' approval. (this was prior to "Benghazi" btw.)

7.  provided funding, training, and equipment to anti-assad rebels who are/were allies of ISiS, Al-qaeda and other terrorist factions.  Then eventually started air-strikes against ISIS who we were still indirectly providing support to. 

8.  Killed the NASA constellation program because it was over budget and behind schedule(like all their programs).  Later approved of the Orion program which is the constellation program just with a different rocket.  Though it is now also behind schedule and over budget.  

 

I could go on, but i don't want the wall of Text to be big enough to make trump jealous. 

 

My overall opinion of him is "meh".  He isn't the devil conservatives make him out to be, but he isn't the angel liberals make him out to be.  or a "demi-god" as people at Huffpo call him (that isn't sarcasm btw)

 

Many of the policies republicans blame him for were started under Bush that he merely continued.

Troop withdrawal, drone strikes, the bank bailout, spying etc...

Things that i like about what he has done was make the presidency less like a stick in the mud.  Helped be a role model to young african americans, and at least took a pro-science stance.

 

What i dislike are:

Everyone of his NASA budget proposals have called for an overall cut.  Some areas get an increase but mostly they would get less money.

 

He has inserted himself into race relations and not for the better during such events like with ferguson, and Martin etc....  Instead of being the voice of calm and reason he has taken sides before the official investigation was even over.  He really should of just told folks to be patient, but also assured them he would use the DOJ to make sure everything is on the level.

 

His only solution to fixing the VA is more money.  Even though their budget has doubled and the problems continue he insists on just throwing more money at the problem.  Something that even many democrats disagree with. 

 

Lastly he accepted a nobel piece prize that he himself criticized even being nominated for.

On the ACA I guess I agree with the Calvinist ideals of Americans early leaders. I would gladly pay a bit extra for healthcare if I knew it was helping my fellow man. What raised prices was the greed of the health care industry. This is something other countries were able to do away with but we as Americans are too stupid to figure out a way to provide care for all of our citizens.

No,  greed had nothing to do with it.  Health insurance companies operate on very tight profit margins as it is. Even die hard liberals who are health care professionals acknowledge this.

 

But adding high risk people into the insurance pool while also being required to provide coverage "for free" for certain services only increases the overhead of those insurance companies. All companies, regardless of who runs them, has to offset additional costs somehow. 

The individual mandate was supposed help alleviate this as it would increase the amount of low risk people to the insurance pool.  Thereby having a customer base that pays for insurance without using it much to offset the people who do use it a lot. 

 

I personally want the ACA to go, but at the same time there needs to be an alternative to replace it already being implemented.  The ACA sucks for a lot of people, but so did the old system.
