Well, not really, that's the thing with popular vote counting, every vote counts the same, regardless of its location. At the end of the day, 59M+ Americans voted for each candidate throughout the country. California or Kansas, they are American all the same.

 

I don't think anyone found Trump "slightly worse" than Clinton, though: it's seems to me more like a slightly different amount of people considered one candidate much worse than the other (although I guess there must be some voters with similar dislike for both).

My point was more along the lines of many Republicans in CA don't bother showing up since they can't win so why bother, this is true of many smaller Republican states but the big red state Texas doesn't have the same affliction and CA is massive even when compare to Texas

Trump is going to end up winning by an even larger margin. He will most likely win Arizona and Michigan; those two states and New Hampshire have STILL not been officially called. Hillary will end up gaining 4 and Trump will end up gaining 27 electoral votes. Putting the final score at 232 vs 306.

As I have said many times over the past year. People vote for Trump, becasue they have been paying attention. Those who followed the election closely and those who followed the media closely vote entirely different than one another.

 

 

The argument that Hillary has won the popular vote, even if it is true(isn't), means nothing becasue as a constitutional republic, states can abide by different laws than other states. Of course there is the supremacy clause, but America actually called the United States of America for reason.  So, it is not just about total votes, it's about landmass, states, counties, regions, the representation of space, representation of federal influence etc.

In all fairness, I don't think Trump is the most honest person either. Nevertheless, I think he's miles better than Hillary in that regard.

LOL... both of them were extremely poor choices, but American politics is a sea of poor choices and the people themselves are to blame that these were their only choices...

The election is over... I don't exactly care about the result because let's face it, both were terrible choices... but you can blame the voting system for putting Americans in that tough spot in the first place. I've already pointed the several flaws of it earlier in the thread.

 

Instead, rejoice at the fact that the toxic campaigns are over... I don't want to know whose kitty-cat Trump was keen to grab or whether or not Hillary should be labelled a criminal and locked inside a jail... the result is that Trump won. Of course, you either like him or don't like him but you have to accept the fact that he will be your President for the next four years... I think he's too unpredictable personally but who knows what will happen in the future...

 

And for the people saying that the world is doomed... I implore you to take a look at Trump's victory speech. He nailed many points in it and I got to say I liked it overall. The potential for him to be a decent President is definitely there... despite past events.

Absolutely.

 

One either follows politics closely or follows political media closely. There is a huge difference. Hopefully, Trump haters will see the light and its divine truth, then they will understand that the veil has been lifted.
