CPU for video editing - Which one is better?

Hello! I'm new to the community.

I'm trying to build a low budget PC for basic video editing. My budget for this build will be around $300 max since I already have the PSU/ram/HDD/Case.
Which model of Intel or AMD would you recommend?

intel because more upgrade options atm

Mouse: Logitech g402 <3

Keyboard: Some Tenkeyless with blue kalih switches

Headphones: Logitech g430

Monitor: HP w2207h (1680 x 1050 @ 60hz)

PC Specs:CPU(AMD A8 6500 @3.5ghz), Mobo ( ASUS A68HM-E  FM2+), 1x1600mhz 4gb stick of ram, Random grey PSU, 920gb ssd

Phone: Iphone 5 32gb

Tablet: Ipad 2 16gb

Laptop:Toshiba satelite with 8gb of ram a 480gb ssd and a mobile 2nd gen I3

Intel. It might be more expensive and seem like less. Quad core vs an octal core. But trust me intel is the way to go for now. Unless you want to wait for Zen and it is looking to be a very good processor. But everything is a rumor at this point

Until Zen comes out, we kinda do buy based on brand. AMD doesn't deliver performance, and quality/value are subject to personal need, preference, and factors that might not be initially considered.

Do you need to have mobo in the budget too because you will need a new one anyway. Your current mobo does not support skylake or any intel at all. If you don't want to get a new mobo for some reason then FX 8350

The thing is that people are so quick to suggest Intel, use Intel, regardless of budget, purpose, or strong suit of the processors. Linus included.

The only reason I say that Zen might change that is because of the news and hype around it. People expect Broadwell-E level performance, and Zen demonstrated an instance of that. That isn't something people can just ignore.

It only demonstrated Broadwell-E performance on an unidentified server chip. I would just wait though.

It was just an unidentified Octocore/16 thread set at the same clock. While personally, I hold no hopes for Zen at all (I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed), it does give us the idea that we can have an AMD lineup that can be widely considered as a viable option again.

If you already have the motherboard and RAM just get a new CPU for it during the holidays for cheap.

Since this is all still rumor, I'd rather not comment, but the article that I read for it indicated that it was likely a server chip. I'd rather see my investments come to light come 1Q17.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz

GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 460 2GB Red Dragon

 

if you can get a higher specced i5 (6500, 6600 or 6600K). Don't get a xeon. you have no need for ecc memory, dual socket or other features. no need for higher spec video card at this level. If you do for whatever reason want a higher video card then go gtx1050. motherboard is fine.
