CPU for video editing - Which one is better?

People using an AMD processor and people actually wanting to use an AMD processor are two different things. If I need stability over performance, I fall in the latter.

Intel also doesn't have that performance difference when one is looking at CPUs at the price level of AMD's offerings. It's only at the top end, and for most people, it doesn't matter.

But that is the ultimate factor to most people. They thing "Intel has the 6950X, it's super powerful while AMD's FX 9590 is ancient and slow in comparison, so I'm sure the Celeron is better than the A10."

Hell, often, AMD can offer better performance for the price when people are actually looking at chips that are geared for their needs.

 

But, at the end of the day, they aren't Intel. That's all that matters to most people at this point.

Since this is all still rumor, I'd rather not comment, but the article that I read for it indicated that it was likely a server chip. I'd rather see my investments come to light come 1Q17.

AMD showing off the chip wasn't rumor. Speculation on what type of chip it is, and the specs that it will actually ship with is though.

I'm not really reading up on rumors, just official announcements.
