H110M VS Z170

Hey,

I want to use i7 6700, 16gb ddr4, 2tb hdd, 120gb ssd and gtx 960 4gb. But will the performance be the same or z170 will give me more performace than h110m? I know one has more options and things but in real life use whats the difference.

z170 allow you to do a blck overlock on a non k cpu but not worth it imo. stick with h110m or get an i7 6700k with z170 mobo

Z170 doesn't make your CPU be faster or whatever, it just allows you to overclock (if you have an overclockable CPU, not counting in BCLK OC'ing) and has some more features (like M.2, which I believe is only on H170 and Z170 if I'm not mistaken).

So in performance no boost or down, and they have the same performance? What would be a good mobo for i5 6600 or i7 6700. If it matters pc will be used for gaming, editing and streaming.

You might profit from extra speed RAM on Z170 but that's really really small difference

z170 can overclock a k cpu and is more expencive while h110 is cheaper and dles the same just cant overclock which doesnt matter if you are getting a cpu without a k behind its number

Slowly but surely making myself comftable in a life i have built since childhood.

I like recieving replies, mention or quote to get my attention

Don't buy the 960, just buy the 1050 ti, literally the same specs aside from shaders.

Yeah it's fine. A motherboard doesn't inherently make a CPU any faster or slower, only differences are features on a board. Mainly overclocking, M.2 SSD support, higher memory clocks and other small things like amount of SATA/PCIe ports.

H110 only has 6 pcie 2.0 lanes for whatever other devices your connecting. On a budget then grab a B150 or cheapest Z170

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list

Do you mean it? Sorry, I think you are wrong on this: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-HDV/

PS: it's a 40$ MOBO.

Yes, H110 only has pcie 2.0 lanes for additional devices you might want to install. Graphic card uses the lanes from the CPU so those are 3.0. The lanes is wired only to the pcie x16 slot.

I've corrected the right amount of lanes for the H110 it's 6 not 8.

So in reality any motherboard will be fine?
