The M12II and M12II EVO 620W can sometimes be had for $60 on Newegg.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

That is a decent power supply and a good recommendation. Also, it's more power than he needs.

If he wants to overclock it allows some nice headroom

Well, a quality 650w also does provide enough "headroom" to both overclock the CPU and crossfire the RX480. Since the OP never mentioned crossfire, it can open up other higher quality but lower wattage options that he can look at instead of just limiting himself to the potentially more costly ~650w range.

650W would be enough to OC two 480s and his 6600k.

It's more headroom than he needs. He could take it to 4.8 GHz, overclock his RX 480, get another one, overclock that too, and still have power to spare. Still, I suppose it'll improve the upgrade possibilities and resale value of his build.

Though instead of spending that much more on a power supply, he could cut down what he's blowing on unnecessary watts and get an 8GB RX 480 instead, or better still, a GTX 1060.

If hes getting a 4GB Nitro he could be lucky like me. My Nitro at my max OC of 1470/2000 pulls quite a bit of power. Not as much as some people though because my chip is so efficient
