"The National Security Agency (NSA ) of United States hacked into the Mexican president's public email account and gained deep insight into policymaking and the political system. The news is likely to hurt ties between the US and Mexico. This operation, dubbed 'Flatliquid,' is described in a document leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden. Meanwhile U.S. President Barack Obama's administration is urging the Supreme Court not to take up the first case it has received on controversial National Security Agency cybersnooping."

Snowden doing more good, NSA doing more harm. I think this shows just how corrupt the US government really is.

People who call Snowden a traitor should give up their citizenship for defending such a blatantly dangerous corrupt government.

Sadly I doubt there is a single government on the planet that is not corrupt. We are a selfish and increadibly greedy people that abuse power.

True, but there is a threshold when the corruption has been taken too far and this certainly is it. All of this has been going on behind our backs for years while we were blissfully unaware. Now that it's becoming public, the citizens are realizing who their government is and are not pleased. This is the kinda stuff you expect from a 3rd world dictatorship, not a first world nation with so much influence.

Even though there are far worse governments out there, the fact it's the USA is what I argue is calling a massive outrage.

The more power people have the more they abuse it. It would not suprise me at all to see this stuff from any 1st world power. None of this shocks me. We hide it all under the guise of being "patriotic" and the clown parade that is DC.

People who call Snowden a traitor should give up their citizenship for defending such a blatantly dangerous corrupt government.

Really, why is that... Lets see, how shall I answer this. Oh right, Snowden violated 18 USC 798 (Federal Law, fyi). If he wanted to bring to light the "injustice" being done, he could have gone about it the right way. He didn't, he isn't a whistleblower in any sense of the word. Unless you have lived in that world, those commenting like you are useless. He didn't follow any sort of procedure he should have. (I'd read up on them if I were you, its very informative.)

But considering I have worn the Uniform, I will NEVER EVER give up my citizenship to the likes of your demands. How about we throw out the laws because some people feel they are above them.

But lets take a look at 18 USC 798 shall we?

Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes, or uses in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States or for the benefit of any foreign government to the detriment of the United States any classified information—
(1) concerning the nature, preparation, or use of any code, cipher, or cryptographic system of the United States or any foreign government; or
(2) concerning the design, construction, use, maintenance, or repair of any device, apparatus, or appliance used or prepared or planned for use by the United States or any foreign government for cryptographic or communication intelligence purposes; or
(3) concerning the communication intelligence activities of the United States or any foreign government; or
(4) obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government, knowing the same to have been obtained by such processes—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

Hmmm, sounds like he did violate the law. Now, as for the right path, guess what... There is a right way to go about it, and its called the Defense Intelligence Community Whistleblower Program. Its something known to all of us that have worked in the Intelligence Community at large. But those that don't know, talk the loudest about oh how everyone that calls Snowden is a traitor is wrong.

And yes, Snowden is a traitor to his Country, to the Community, to Himself, and to the World.

Wearing a uniform =/= being a patriot. One has to be completely mental to support a broken government and treat those exposing the corruption as a traitor of the state. The real traitors are those who brainwash others into believing being treated like criminals is okay. There does exist plenty of military and ex-military that are against the bullshit their government is doing. Those are the true patriots.

On a much smaller scale, it's no different than witnessing a bully and instead of helping out the person being bullied, you either A) do nothing or B ) side with the bully. That isn't right at all, not even close. The NSA is the bully and those supporting their ways are not for the people. You can call that a traitor all you want, I don't see it that way and neither do many others.

Defending the truth is honourable, upholding a lie isn't.

Actually the Uniform part was about me giving up my citizenship. Just saying, if people are going to tell me to give up my citizenship, they'll have to deal with the fact that I have fought for the freedoms that give them the right to say that to me.

Second, quote me so I can respond.

Third, I will ask everyone, is Snowden above established US Law or not? This is what it all comes down to. I guess you also skipped over what I said about the right path. If you are going to comment about me and what I said, why don't you actually read what I said, and do some research. He had a right path to take, to expose it in a fashion that would not have caused him to become a traitor. He didn't chose to take it. That is on him. I've been on record as saying that some of what they did is wrong, but not all of it. But the simple fact is, you have distorted the facts to fit your own reality. I haven't. I have established laws and programs on my side. You don't. You can't quote a single law which gave Snowden the right to give classified information to the public. Until you do, its useless to argue with you. Because you will lose on that fact alone.

Fourth, NSA a bully? How so? Again, facts aren't on your side on this one either.

Fifth, you are the one defending a known criminal who has admitted committing a criminal act, and his hiding from prosecution. Again, 18 USC 798 is the law of the land.

Overall, when you reveal classified information in public you endanger real people, real lives. People seem to forget that. Lets give a hypothetical example. I have a back door into the MSS, an Agent had secured. This agent works for MSS, and planted the code that allows this. Now comes along you and thinks it is wrong and reveal this information that we can read all MSS documents. Not only do we lose that source of information, but they will try and figure out how we got into the system. They find our agent and he/she disappears. What are the chances MSS lets him/her walk? More then likely they are dead. Another example of this reality of where real people die would be Robert Hanssen.

[i only read the title]

Oh! boy... ¡adiós NSA...

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

This isn't anything new, countries have been spying on each other for centuries. I'd be more worried about a country spying on its own citizens as a means of control/leverage.
