Status & Cover Photo Questions

Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

You seem to have disabled status updates on your account - you can enable them again by clicking "edit profile" while viewing your profile, then enabling "Enable status updates".

The banner is primarily displayed at 1570x200px (though mobile and viewing your activity is different).

My apologies if this is in the wrong place or if this topic was already covered elsewhere but I can't find it. While I'm on LTT Forum home page, upon scrolling down on the right side there's a feature to update our status. When I click in the area presumably to type a message it just takes me to my profile. I've looked high & low on this page as well & can't find any option to say "What's on your mind?", does anyone know how this feature works? Also, what are the exact recommended dimensions for our profile cover photos? I'd like to make something for myself with the Gimp that blends in with my profile photo's black background so that they look one & the same.

If you click in the top right (on your profile name) you can press 'Update Status' and write a status updated

The dimensions for a banner are 1920x300 I think (might be less width on lower resolutions).

It's not there but thank you for the dimensions, could it be because I don't have two-step verification enabled?

No, that shouldn't be the problem. Can you send me a screenshot of all options under the drop down menu when you click on your profile name?

'Update Status' should be inbetween 'My Activity' and 'Messages'.

Otherwise you can use this too to make a status update: https://linustechtips.com/main/index.php?app=core&module=status&controller=ajaxcreate
