Hello people of the Internet, from my 1 week of using linustechtips forums I have already fell in love with it. One thing that sucks is that I'm always traveling and have to use my phone to access the forums on safari (Nothing works properly on safari) and I thought what if a LinusTechTips app was made for IOS and Andriod so anyone can use the forums without dealing with safari's way of formatting websites. If this was done I think more people would use the forums and people would use it more often because the easy access. What do you guys think? I personally think it would be a great idea. Thank you for reading have a great day!

Well, on IOS and I think on android too, you can save the website on your home screen for easy access. The only downside of this that I think should be added that it doesn't remember my login details. But eh, its ok my name details only take a minute to put.

solution to your problem: dont use Safari for browising LTT forums if thats broken for you, works fine in chrome for me, but im also on Android but still. there is an app thing beeing developed but its not for viewing the forum and i dont have a link right now

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Making an APP is harder than implementing mobile friendly website

The only nice thing about an app would be push notifications, though I think that there might be some way to reach that either like what the LTT notifier is on Chrome/Firefox for desktops as it would be for mobile.

works in edge on Windows phone, except I have to click in the reply box then click quote for that function to work.

website is public as is the posts, sure if you really wanted you could pull the data. Would be even easier if there was json to parse.

is there a rss feed?

shame that would have been a nice way to get new post data.

You could hook off the same API that the LTT notifier browser extensions use, I think there was a thread somewhere highlighting how it works.

https://linustechtips.com/main/api.php

There's a separate page for reading the notifications but I'm unsure of what it's called.

There is RSS for each subforum. Or you could make your own Activity Feed and use that for RSS. Notifications aren't in that. But you could setup email for those.
