A lot of things are crimes in the UAE, and encrypted VOIP is a no no because they can't use surveillance on it plus they like to keep monopolies intact.

did you miss the part where it says "for the purposes of comitting a crime or preventing it's discovery" ?

 

using a VPN etc. as per normal and not doing anything illegal with it is completely fine. Nothing to see here folks.

We already discussed all matter of harmless shit that's a punisheable crime in this country so definitively something to see, regardless of you hand waving away an important issue.

Most Arabic country's consist of Muslims, Christians and more religions, look at Lebanon, Syria, Palestine/Israel, Egypt and a lot more that's why you see alcohol so yeah alcohol means nothing.

Basically every country have some kind of tourism, north korea too. At what point can we determine that is the actual cause?
In some of the countries I have visited, tourism of foreigners is very low (most people who visited, fled the country as it was going into war in the previous decades).

Still bars were open to the local, they ran alcohol commercials on the local TV stations, and alcohol could be purchased at any gas-station.
