Phone radiation cause cancer?

Is the kind of radiation given off from these large scale power lines the same kind of energy given off by a cell phone? Like what is the radiation coming from? Is it the electronics that power the device dissipating heat radiation or is it radio signals that communicate with other devices?

Both are "radiation", radiation just means that it emits or transmits, there are a lot of different types of electromagnetic radiation, gravitational radiation, acoustic, particle radiation.

microwaves are specificly effective on water molecules (that's where the 2.4GHz is from)

 

so most likely, if you'd put yourself in a microwave, you'd boil (and explode) before you'd actually burn yourself.

Well microwaves can actually go beyond burning you. Since the warm the water from within it can actually cause your cells to die. If the temperature changes just a couple of degrees your cells will die and if enough start dieing you will probably die too. They release a tiny bit of toxin telling your body and other cells it has died but if all the cells in your hand died, billions, you might die. This is why when you get frost bite so bad you need to get that amputated fast.

I know, but that was not the point, my point was, to non ionising radiation to make some damage in the body, you need a massive amount of it, no some tiny cellphone radiation or powerlines.

I know that. What I meant was that we can just scare the public and push them away by using the word radiation as current methods don't really scare people and push them from smoking.

Let's say that the rate of cancer goes up wherever radio signals/towers are present. Is it possible that the negative views of people about cell phones, WiFi routers, etc could actually cause the rate of cancer occurrence to go up?

Do you know basic biology? New DNA is not created when cells split. It's synthesized during S phase in the cell cycle, long before the cell splits. And ionizing radiation can alter DNA at any time, not just while the DNA is being replicated.

that's called light, son

(yes, light is part of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum)

 

basicly sun comes in (some gets bounced away by atmosphere), sun does its thing, sun reflects off the things it does its thing on, some gets bounced back down, some gets sent up into space.
