GTX 1060 BEST VALUE CARD?!?!

Few days ago probably last week I made a topic that talks about Nvidia newest and freshest 10 Series, Which you can see :Here. The problem is I don't know who's Nvidia's target for the GTX 10 Series, and then the 1060 launched and it literally blew people's mind by it's performance and price. I like to compare this card with another Value card (No, it's not the RX-480) which is GTX 970 it's predecessor which still counted as a usable and valuable card for the price as of 2016. GTX 1060 Launched at a shocking price as low as $275 for the Founder's Edition and $240 for the MSRP. Now, those price are surely made for value gamers who wants the best frame per buck type of deal, not like what happened to the GTX 1070 and 1080 which you could see more at my older post.

Now, I've tried to search for benchmarks of this card and comparison with other card especially the GTX 970. and this is what I came up with:

 And this is Linus' Video:

Now the question is, "Is it really the best value card for the price?"

I've open up a strawpoll for this topic alone, which you can click right HERE and please give your reason in this topic/post

The MSRP for the GTX 1060 is $250, not $240, and the Founder's Edition costs $300, not $275.

While the RX 480 still remains king price/performance wise, yes, I agree the GTX 1060 is a very well positioned card. The Founder's Edition is another story.

Pascal has been the biggest "paper launch" I've ever seen. The fact that Microcenters only had about 20-30 GTX 1080s on launch day is a joke. Same thing happened with the 1070 and the 1060. Nobody has stock and its allowing retailers to charge more for the cards because they know people will want them bad enough.

Then you haven't checked the supply of RX 480s. Honestly, this just keeps getting funnier how nothing AMD ever gets called on. Like still not having AIB cards while the 1060 launched with them. Which are avalible on Newegg FYI.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

1 AMD card vs 3 Nvidia

IMO Polaris was rushed because of the 1080 and the 1060 was delayed on purpose which allowed AIBs to have their coolers ready.

Do you intentionally like making conflict? Nothing I said was wrong and just because I didn't include AMD doesn't mean their card isn't in the same position. The thread was about Pascal, specifically the 1060 which I gave my thoughts on.

Did you check, you can get a 1060. They're selling out quick but a few are left.

The 1060 isn't a paper launch, the card this topic is on. You brought your views on the higher cards in. So yeah, I'm making conflict. The 1060 launch is better than the RX 480, 1070, or 1080.

Well you can now "pre-order" AIB RX480s so...they should be out very shortly no?

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Yea as of yesterday when I checked the Zotac 1060 Mini was available to buy...  But alas I don't have money... so I didn't buy it.

I otherwise would have bought it and sold my 970 simply based on the cost of it was cheap.

And.... it's got 6 Gb Vram. I don't even care that it's not that much faster, but the thermals.... and power usage both beat the 970... and it seemed pretty quiet.

And LOL at those 480 prices. $300 - $359  YIKES.  No way anyone pays that now.

And I do think Nvidia waited on the 1060 to release the FE and AIB cards at once like AMD should have done.  BTW.... the FE cards should have been the "cheaper" prices, not the other way around.

In my opinion the GTX 1060 is much better in value than the GTX 960 was. The 1060 gives similar performance as a 980 and costs $250 dollars! Thats pretty solid to me. Its good for budget 1440p or doing really well at 1080.

Agreed its been very frustrating. I just got my GTX 1080s due to a vendor from work having picked them up the moment they went available. Got them for MSRP also.
