Damn, i only managed to get mine to 1325+/-, altho i feel that the 6800k have gotten a bad treatment as f.ex techsource didnt event try to oc it.

Ive found out that i rather have a 400 mhz gain on uncore then 6 core at 4.3, so now ive only run 1 at 4.3 and 5 at 4.2 uncroe at 38 got to lower the voltage from 1.410 to 1.390, and the idle temps went down by 8-10c :P

feel this is okay for a chip that i bought on "craigslis"t for 300 $ :P

IMHO these two, so G4560 and R7 1700, are the best CPUs since 2500K came out.

I would disagree. The g3258 and g4400 are as fast as the 4560 once overclocked. The r7 1700 is good but if you don't get it to 3.9-4ghz it's slow.

2c/2t does not work anymore in the real world, that train is gone. They might keep up in benchmarks but in real world they are for office PCs.

G4560 and R7 1700 OTOH work really well in the real world.

Did you ever get your AIO from Gof?

Yeah he sent it Media mail, which took forever to get to my house. The package had no padding to protect the aio... It was trashed and unusable. He tried to say USPS unwrapped it and placed it in another box. He apparently wanted it back gave me $5 less for shipping troubles, so I sent it back to him via media mail and I don't know whether he got it or not lol

For me benchmarks are the primary use for pc, so that is real world. This is still not any good excuse to run the 1700 at stock speed either :P

I now see why running benchmarks on a fresh OS install with as little other stuff installed as possible is recommended.  I guess once MS gets all their spyware up and running it drains cpu resources.

Stock settings with 1.165v with normal priority after fresh install of W10 = 40 more points than usual...1004cb.  I should have run it real time as well to see what the result was, but it was getting late and it slipped my mind.

Finally got some time for the Gulftown 980X.

4.3 GHz, 1.375 Vcore

3x 2GB Corsair Dominator 2000 MHz CL 7-8-7

I've been contemplating replacing it for my 2600K, but that chip already does 152cb single thread at 4.3GHz and is still only using the stock Vcore (1.28V). So I think I'm going to keep the ol' Sandy.

The 2000 MHz DDR3 seems to be working extremely well in C15 for this chip though.

That's a pretty big difference in single-threaded performance and likely to be felt in daily use for sure.

Exactly. The EVGA X58 Classified 4-way would also require me to buy a larger case as it is XL-ATX, and I'm not going to ditch my beloved Fractal R5 just yet.

It's a shame Nehalem is lacking IPC so badly compared to Sandy Bridge, especially since the multithread performance is still decent.... and it would of course make for an awesomely unique build. B| Pretty sure not many people are still using Gulftowns as their daily machine :P

This first one is (i think, could be wrong) an i7 6500u. Cpu-z states it is an i7 6600u. The second one is the backup audio computer for my school's theatre program. It does things like Adobe Audition, Audacity and Sony Soundforge.not crap.jpg
