Sell stuff instantly

So I am moving very soon and I don't have enough time to sell my gtx 980 to and I was wondering  if there was a place where I could go and just sell it

We have a classfieds section on the forums, not sure if that helps but just be sure to take a look at the posting guidelines:

You could try a local computer store/repair shop. But expect a steep drop in resale

The quickest way I imagine would be to pawn it. They won't give you much for it though.

Ebay Valet is basically a person selling it for you. I cannot show eBay links, but this is officially done by eBay. So the catch is that they get 20% commission, but they do not charge you for shipping, and they will not give you any other charges. If item does not sell they will send it back to you for free.

If the item sells then you no longer have to worry about it. They will cover it from there. (Even if the customer wanted a refund)

Why do you have to sell it to move?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Pretty much a pawn shop would be the only place that will more or less buy anything instantly, and pay you in cash. However, they'll give you nothing for it, if they even knew what it was worth. I'd imagine you'd probably get less than $100 for it.

Even if you found a place that will buy computer equipment, and knows what it's worth, you'll still lose a significant portion of it's resale value, since they need to buy it from you, then still re-sell it at market used value, while making a healthy profit.

They're acting as a middle man.

If you want to sell it for what it's worth, then you need to be patient. Post ads on Kijiji/Craiglist (or local equivalent), ebay, LTT Classifieds section, and check other forums too (Overclockers forum, Hardforum, whatever). Maximizing the number of places you are listing the card for will help speed up the process. If you want a quick sale, then underprice it by $25 or $50.

oh.  Are you planning to do a build?

Yeah but it's for someone who doesn't game that much and all they play is emulators and league of legends

hm, yeah probably not worth using the 980 on that.  I was just thinking that if you had a build that needed it, better to just use it than sell it even if it means you have to carry it with you in a move.

I would honestly take it with you during the move and list it ASAP to sell properly. Do some proper research to see what the local (and international, since you can ship it) used price is for a 980, and then undercut the average price by a few bucks. That will help you sell it quicker as well.

I would start by listing it in the Classifieds section. You can also put a link to your post in Classifieds in your signature, if I recall correctly.

If you price it low enough, it will go quickly :D

Or people will think you did something horrible with it so that is why you are selling it so low... Hmm, dilemma.

Pawn shops. But you'll get around half of it's value most of the time. CEX in the UK pays reasonable prices. They buy 980's for £211 at the moment which is pretty good actually.

If you do sell it for $5, let me know before you put it out there so I can scoop it up first.

Hardwareswap is also a good place to sell it. At $300 OBO shipped, you can probably sell it very quickly.
