I cant believe how much things have changes since i was a kid, in my day we dated within our own social circles within the high school hierarchy and to be perfectly honest very few of us had had sex even at the age of 17 when i lost my virginity i can remember being one of very few that took the leap, most were still on 1st or 2nd base. Now we have kids being charged with producing/distributing child porn because they're getting up to all kinds of mischief and filming it

Proportionally, most kids still don't have sex, or do crazy things like this. It's just that, back in your day (and mine), there was no internet or social media, so you just didn't hear about it.

 

Stuff like this sure as hell still happened - it's just much more visible now because we live in a society where almost nothing can be kept secret for long.

What is this the result of? Terrible parenting (absent etc)? Drugs? Alcohol? Pressure? I lean more toward bad parenting, myself, but all I can say is that her life is ruined. No one will bat an eye at the boys involved but she will always be remembered terribly for this.

Maybe in the town she currently lives in, but moving to a new city or even a new state will pretty much erase this from her day to day life. I'd go so far as to say that saying this will "ruin her life" is at least somewhat overdramatic. In 5 years no one will care, and in 10 years, no one will remember.

You honestly don't think this reached outside of her home town or even the internet? That is extremely unlikely and things like this have ruined girls before. It wouldn't be the first time. So even if it could be forgotten after 10+ years it still doesn't mean she's not going to face it every day until people don't care any more.

True - I never said her life would be easy. She will certainly pay for her actions socially during the rest of high school, assuming she continues at the same school she's currently in.

 

But I do honestly believe that if she moved somewhere else, it would likely not affect her life much. Obviously moving is a hassle, and often not practical, but many people move away from their home town after high school anyway - going away to College, and staying there or moving somewhere else after that.

 

She'll meet new people that have never heard of her reputation, and assuming she doesn't continue actions that will reinforce said reputation, she should be able to overcome this in time.

 

Over the next 3 years or so of high school? Yes, she'll have to deal with it. But she made a (seemingly) conscious and consensual decision to do it, so she will pay whatever the price is for her actions.

 

As for who is at "fault"? Well, it's certainly impossible for us to tell, given the very vague details available about this situation. Could be the parents, could be bad influence from friends, could be drugs.

 

Or it could be no ones fault, directly. There isn't always someone to blame in these types of situations, aside from the person themselves.

New spin on the story:  This girl was put into a sex trafficking situation for two years previous.  She has been getting help for the psychological trauma.  So from ages 13-15 she was not in a stable environment.  This was from the mother's testimony, I will source it when I can.  I just heard about it.

 

Her mother has also taken her out of school to try to protect her from the social aspects of the situation.

And lastly the parents of all parties for doing a lousy job of teaching values.

Well, I watched it again... they don't source the claim of sex trafficking so I would determine that part of the story as a possibility.  They (TYT) will correct themselves if facts, contrary to what they said, surface.

Partially true, or better to say it's part of the truth. Talking from experience only in my country, system is also to blame. And not small but a huge part of the blame. I could go on into specifics but I'm on my phone and it could take some time for me to write everything. And I'm in a hurry currently.
