Mount heatsink without screws/clips

Alkahna

Hi,

Im modding my Xbox 360 (fat version) as I want it to be much more quiet than it used to be.

I found 2 little aluminum heatsinks that will fit the 2 RAM modues on the mainboard but (obvious) there are no holes/clips I can mount them to.

So I need to find out a different way to get them on there.

I have normal thermalpaste & thermal pads laying around but dont think they will hold the heatsink in place when the console is being moved..

Does any1 have an idea on how to mount them in a safe & functional way?

regards

Alkahna

double sided adhesive thermal pads

do not use glue like arctic silver

then those heatspreaders will never be able to come off

Duct tape.

Or thermal pads. Like what @enderman said. But duct tape would be a funny story.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

can you recommed some thermal pads in terms of thermal conductivity?

they go on the RAM Chips of my Xbox 360 (fat) and I dont think they need to be like 6 W/mK i think?!^^

I found some:

- Alphacool with 0,7 W/mK

- Akasa with 0,9 W/mK

- Aquacooling with  1,5 W/mK

*bump*

Does any1 know how much W/mK I should go for a RAM Chip??

EDIT:

Ended up using normal thermal paste and securing it with high thermal resistant silicone I had lying around ;) ... not pretty (although the silicone is red) but does its job and its not visible anyways
