INFO FOR EVERY GTX 9XX USER ,never change drivers again. NVidia is gonna do it again .They will not care again for the last generation gpus and more importantly , in order to achieve those <<perfomances>> 970 better than titan x for example they will destroy the last gen. I know that the new gen is has to be better but not the way nvidia want it to be. So keep a copy of your drivers you will need them

well, the drivers lately have been crap anyway, so no one have updated theirs recently :D (at least those who are informed about the crappiness of the drivers)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yes.... when oh when will they produce anything that is at least as good as a 970? The 390, 390X and Fury cards are all a myth.

It makes sense that a 7970 is still receiving driver updates, it is literally a 280X. While it shouldn't be performing on par with a 780, I do wonder if AMD's long term support would be anything like as good if they didn't keep renaming old cards and presenting them as current.

There's no evidence of Nvidia gimping my GTX 580 either.

Ah so you're complaining that nothing AMD has will compete with a future generation product. It's not even true, btw, the Fury X will. And what Polaris competes with remains to be seen.

Why? The 1080 is supposed to be on par with the 980 Ti, which would make it on par with the Fury X.

Nvidia literally showed performance 40% higher than 980 Ti in their unveiling event.

So did AMD with the Fury X. Forgive me for being sceptical of AMD and Nvidia's own benchmarks.

No, not "we shall see", we're literally talking about historical events. AMD did unveil the Fury X and their own benchmarks did massively exaggerate its capabilities compared with the 980 ti. I would not be surprised at all if Nvidia's own demo here is specifically designed to show Pascal in the best light possible.

Regardless, your insistence on comparing real benchmarks of a last gen flagship AMD card with fabricated benchmarks of a next gen Nvidia flagship that come straight from Nvidia themselves is bullshit.

If AMD makes a card to compete with the 1080, I will buy it!  Sadly, I think the best they will release in 2016 is maybe a 480 or 480x which may or may not compete with the GTX 1070...

I'll keep updating my drivers until I notice I score less in benchmarks.

They likely aren't going to go back in time and worsen optimizations they already implemented, and I doubt they would make driver updates a downgrade.

What's believable to me, is they wouldn't be optimizing them as well as they should from now on. But I don't think they would do straight up sabotage, they would still rather people buy their last gen card over AMD's last gen card. So they will still want to have it compete with that...

they do not care about last gen. you can see that because nvidia get's everything back from the market of the last gen every year .they do not care to lose money , they could sell with discounts but they do not. that's nvidia

The fuck are you talking about they don't care to lose money lol? They're greedy as fuck, they want all the money...

They do sell with discounts, as in last gen cards become cheaper.

Also I don't know what you mean by they get everything back from the market of last gen every year.

I'm sure they don't give a fuck about lets say the 400 Series which they still release drivers for. But last gen is still pretty relevant for money.

I agree, I'm just hard pressed to believe that last gen's flagship will compete with next gen's flagship. Regardless ofits vendor.
