If it's not a GPU then it's not going to stop me from putting money in AMD's pocket for a R9 280x.

Why would it be a new GPU? They've only just brought out the 700 series.

Ya i know. What I'm saying though is that I need a GPU. So there attempt to counteract the AMD attention Isn't going to stop me from buying from AMD, unless they present a better option GPU.

I suppose maybe if they announced Nvidia exclusive VR or some other kind of awesome technology, but otherwise yeah I'm not getting off the AMD hype train.

When they're ready

Thank you. That was unbelievably helpful.

Here is actual news about shadowplay for those interested. It's not looking good guys. I don't understand how there is another delay on the simple basis of a format change. If shadowplay was working currently, then why not release it in beta even if it does output in a m2ts format.

Shadow play isn't the most amazing thing ever.. Considering fraps and quicksync recording softwares.. Probably an oculus rift like device from nvidia?

Shadowplay is utilizing the H.264 encoder in the 600 series and above video cards. FRAPS takes a lot of computational power away from the system, while Shadowplay will not because of the encoder being utilized.

They could just be teasing us. You know that, right? For all we know it could be a minor driver fix.

As well as storage and file size. I have a dedicated barracuda just for recording

For both of our sakes I hope it is shadow play.. Just don't think its the right wording for shadowplay. More likely they are announcing a new product or platform... Grid related ... Or something in that area.. Compared to something we have technically seen before (fraps).

It would be nice if it was a new driver that was master class. Unlikely but it would be really nice.
