Best 980ti Brand

zvParadox

Looking for a gtx 980ti card but not sure which one to get. I'd prefer to stay away from EVGA because I hate the design but I like all the other designs.

MSI is most popular.

Hmmm, well EVGA is considered one of the best, i personally like the classified.

The Asus matrix platinum is considered to be very good as well, just ask Lays, he's got one.

What about the EVGA hybrid

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

If you're only into aesthetics than I think some of MSI and Gigabyte cards look pretty cool. ASUS doesn't look so bad either, if your color scheme happens to match. Frankly, while the Hybrid 980Ti that I got from EVGA won't be winning any beauty contests, I can't complain about the chill temps and rock solid performance. Plus EVGA has backed me plenty of times in the past and haven't let me down.

But it's your rig in the end. Just go with whichever matches your system and your budget.

What color are you going for on your build? The Bronze color of the EVGA coolers went well with the x79  Deluxe board as well as the z97 Deluxe and z97 A boards.

Are the asus cards really bad in terms of cooling? The strix line looks really succesful tho.

What temps your hybrid running at? Got a good overclock? I just want to justify getting a hybrid for my upcoming build.

Thats what i was thinking. If you really want water cooled GPU's i would think it woild be worth then to get a full custom loop, and if not, jsut getting one of those NZXT or Corsair GPU brackets and at least putting a 240mm rad, i dont see how a 120 can really do too much in terms of temps.

I meant succesful as in terms of cooling, but i know you know what i meant :D it just seems like a good looking, efficent card based on the website and reviews. But i guess looks isnt everything ;)

Doesnt Strix have the zero dB fan mode from factory? (I know you can do fan curves on other cards) Or do you just play them hardcore games :D and it never has the chance to go DB

no on the desktop it's silent and the fans won't spin....that's great...but when you launch a demanding game the card can go up to 75c easily and without even overclocking...this with 55% fanspeed...and the fans get super loud at anything more than that...60% is already an absolute no go (at least for me personally).

Fans are cheap on this card IMHO.

I don't overclock my components, but my stock temps are around 29C @ idle and I've never gotten higher than 53C playing games (ambient temp is around 23C). Most graphically intense game I own at the moment is GTA V, played at max settings with a 144Hz monitor for extended periods (2 hours+).

Aida64 maxed the card out at 55C.

Sounds great :D know what kinda frames you were getting on the game? I myself am considering a monitor of the same resolution as yours, and also plan on play GTAV as one of my main games.
