The mechanics of that is more impressive than anything.  Those cubes sometimes jam if you don't line them up just right, so to fling the sides around at that speed is really impressive!  (I would be equally amazed by this thing if it just shuffled it randomly)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

if the use a competition speed cube then that is not a issue. my stickerless can cut corners at almost 45 degree offset.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Stepper motors can be very accurate but the sheer speed of that thing without the cube jamming, locking up, or flat out breaking is absolutely nuts. I did a small stepper motor + software project in college that was no where near that complex, so I can appreciate the work that went into it.

I've never handled a rubik's cube that wasn't jammed up or got locked up within a minute of use.
