Reading all this talk about prawns is making me hungry

A brief note about the Plex app: Plex Pass is not required in addition to paying for the android app to enable remote streaming. Once you've paid for the app, remote streaming is unlocked for unlimited uses. You just don't get the features Plex lists as Plex Pass Features in the google play store, which includes cloud sync and mobile sync (different from streaming). I unlocked the app for myself and stream from it quite frequently away from home and do not subscribe to Plex Pass. I'm also assuming Plex operates the same in Canada as it does here.

That aside, I really like the organized look of the main page. That corsair hat is freaking sick!

For remotely accessing my media, I prefer OpenVPN connect.

This allows me to use other apps such as BSplayer or pretty much any other app that supports a wide range of formats, and smb shares (better than DLNA since there is no update time). Depending on my needs, I simply pick 1 of 2 profiles, 1 routes everything over the VPN (perfect for public hotspots), and the other, routes the local resources. Thus I can stream media from my NAS, and not worry about the format.

Best of all, VPN is far more flexible since the players which offer good format support, and other features such as windowed mode playback so you can do other stuff, will be able to offer good support.

Other than that, you also get good expanded storage if you use programs like ES file explorer which supports network shares.

Hey Linus you could clear up your notifications with a feature from the "360 security" app, its a top app on the play store, it allows you to select apps that will show regular notifications or hide them within its own notification widget. It's really helpful if you want to make notifications meaningful again because they are quite useful.
