How should I store my CPU?

So I have to RMA my motherboard but in the meantime, I want to store my CPU safely. How can I do this?

Also a quick sidenote, there was this really funny story on Tom'sHardware and this guy had left his CPU out overnight in a cardboard box, had it rain, and the CPU was drenched. He cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry and it still worked :-P Sounds too good to be true xD

put it in the original box?

and a CPU is completely sealed...you can put it in water for a week and it will be perfectly fine

what kills a CPU is running it while wet, which would short it

yeah as long as the CPU isnt left out for a few days it should always work. Anyway store your cpu in a non condunctive anti static box/card board box

I store my spare CPUs on a shelf heat spreader side down. But then again the most powerful CPU I have on my shelf is a Pentium D 950.

Also, how should i pack my motherboard? I don't have the antistatic bag or foam packing that came in the box.
