Huawei's rummored that the next phone has more RAM than many laptops!

AlTech

Huawei is rumoured to come out with new phones and they may have more RAM than your laptop!

According to the leak, P9 is going to be sporting 6GB of RAM, and the memory will most likely be running at DDR4 speeds. However, the handset will feature the same SoC as its predecessor, Kirin 950.

Kirin 950 is definitely no slouch when it comes to performance, and our leaked benchmarking tests showed exactly that. Another thing to watch out for is that Huawei will most likely be announcing three variants of the device, since the exact same thing that was done by the Chinese firm with its P8. The expected screen sizes and RAM count that we feel will be present in the following models.

  • P9 Lite (5.0 inch screen size with 4GB RAM)
  • P9 (5.2 inch screen size with 6GB RAM)
  • P9 Max (6.8 inch screen size with 6GB RAM)

This just shows how bad the decision to go with Java for making Android was . They should have made it using C++ so they wouldn't need nearly this much RAM! And also EXCESSIVE RAM IS REALLY EXCESSIVE AND USELESS!

Really... I was fine with 1GB of RAM until just a year ago...

6GB, what am I supposed to use that for? A bloated phone?

I don`t understand why you`d even need that much... especially for the stuff that you already can for a reasonable price...

to game or not to game, that`s the question

Is it really needed? I just use a phone for texting and the odd call not rendering or play AAA games

Well if the GPU was good enough and CPU was good enough then maybe AC: Snydicate anybody? LMAO!

All that means to me is that they can't optimize software for shit.

Apparently it's to get a "Competitive advantage". Since all phones are very similar. Watch the most recent wan show where linus comes on at one point and talks about that.

Nope, my 400euro laptop has 8gb of ram and is expandable to 16gb.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently bad about having more ram, but can't we focus on other specs like battery life or just lower the price? Huawei used to be pretty good at that, wtf happened?

Isn't 2GBs enough for now?

8GBs of DDR3 is $30 nowadays. Go out and get some ram.

*angrily mutters something about freaking EU prices*

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

My 2GB ram phone works fine though. Huawei doesn't equal Android.

My 1GB phone runs butter smooth but it doesn't run Android and no it's not an iPhone.
