New PC freezing my room

buddy_boyo

So couple of months ago I replaced my 8 year old PC with the one in my sig.

Previous PC was a nice little heater that kept my room at acceptable temperature during winter.

So all those new technologies and whatnot in new PC means that the parts stay exceptionally cold (CPU idle @ 24 Celcius ; GPU idle @ 27 Celcius)

This means that my room is so cold now as winter has been coming on.

What do?

  ^_^

Switching to a water cooler (AIO) would help evacuate more of the heat out of your chassis into your room. And to complement that, run Folding@Home or a BOINC project in the background on 1 or 2 cores constantly to keep the processor temperature up.

I love the idea of adding components and oc to make your room warmer, not for increased performance.

Computer's don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose.

Of course u could also find urself a Plasma screen as ur main VDU like I have, I can tell you, its like a radiator :P

In fact between my OC'ed PC and my Plasma Screen, I have not had my radiator on in my room for 4-5 years now :P even in the winter. In fact even at this time of year I have to open a window b4 I got to bed because its like 23c-24c in my room by that time, which isn't comfortable when combined with UK humidity.
