And its recently been confirmed the game has the god awful Denuvo DRM...

It seems pretty fuckin dumb to make fun of DRM by having it as the label of the enemy of your game, and then include it with your game. 

It's like they're pretending to be on a groups side with the joke, "yeah fuck DRM right guys!" and then go and incorporate it. Lol? It makes no sense.

Well Denuvo isnt even DRM. And furthermore why is it "god awful" because the claims as to why its god awful were unfounded. 

Also how do you know it was a tongue in cheek joke? The name makes perfect sense for the context of the game, there is 0 reason to believe it was ment to be a commentary on anything.

Got any games in mind with harmful drm that aren't obviously against buyers? So anything besides always online based drm, or drm that forces users to go out of their way to "prove" to the drm software its a genuine copy.
