Choice: gtx 970 or r9 390

Hello Everyone

I have a hard time choosing between the.. gtx 970, r9 390
Gtx 970 is 375 euro - 397 dollars
r9 390 is 367 euro - 388 dollars

I game a lot:
- Call of Duty Black ops III
- Fallout 4
- League of legends
- Rocket League
- Gta V(gonna buy this game in a month)

And do video editing:
Mostly making 10 hour video's in Sony Vegas Pro 13(every day)
Using i7 4790k right now

Would be nice to get the render times down - 10 hours -> 3-4 hours render

What card is the best for these tasks?

Thanks for reading!

Preformance wise the 390x is faster

Rendering wise that cuda is gonna be good for editing

Honestly I think the 970 is the best option because of cuda and the 970 isn't going to max every game 60 fps but if you want to suffice some graphical quality for faster rendering i would say the 970 is the winner here

Renders love Nvidia cards, but AMD is not horrible either. 390 Has a Better Performance per dollar, and can beat the 970 in some tasks. If your recording game streams than Nvidia > Amd Atm. Drivers Nvidia is also a ton better than AMD at getting them released quicker for MOST games, but not all.

You are comparing 2 cards that are not in the same level.

The R9 390 and GTX 970 are in the same tier, but the R9 390 is slightly faster and has twice the VRam

It's almost the same price

So i think it's the same lvl

The 390x and the gtx 970 isn't the same lvl

But i am talking about the 390 not the 390x

Plus that benchmark was done with the shitty throttling reference 290 that went straight to 94C under load. An aftermarket 390 should do even better. Look for Sapphire, MSI, or PowerColor PCS+. For 1080p gaming the 390 and 970 are really close, but for OpenCL compute the 390 walks all over the 970. Shit, the 970 barely beats the HD 6970 from Dec 2010 in that Sony Vegas Pro 12 benchmark.
