"Leaked photos show Apple's rumored gold iPhone 5S"

TopWargamer

http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/22/4646708/apple-gold-iphone-5s-leaked-photos-rumor

A Japanese website has published new photos of the gold-colored iPhone 5S that Apple is rumored to announce next month. According to reports published earlier this week, the company will announce the device at an event on September 10th. Photos purporting to show the phone have trickled out online, though the images published today on Japan's ASCII website look far more convincing than earlier leaks.

I thought it was to be launched as "champagne" rather than gold.

Wow that is not very "gold" at all is it? It's barely even "champagne". Do they really need to have a slightly different colour which people probably won't even recognise unless they put it right next to a normal one (assuming they don't put it in a case which most of them do)?

Gold? More like a slightly yellowed silver.

Looks garbage, gold doesn't even fit Apples style, black and white keep that minimalist if style. Gold is like... Bad... It doesn't work... Let people paint their phones gold.

Why would one of the most attractive and most well-built phones on the market need to innovate upon its id?

Why would one of the most attractive and most well-built phones on the market need to innovate upon its id?

Good looking phones, yes I can agree but I would not say the most attractive phone. Well built, not so much, I have a old HTC EVO shift phone, in which I like to do my comparisons with. The HTC EVO Shift is also made out of an aluminum casing and it also has gorilla glass. I have done this many times to prove my point that Apple is crapple. I have slammed my HTC EVO on the ground, and stepped on it many times proving my point and to this day, the phone still works and barely looks beat up. Now what I like to tell everyone that owns an Iphone is to do the same thing, since everyone claims that the build quality is so great. What's funny is that I will tell you what everyone says,. "If I do that, my screen will crack".

Here are pics of my old HTC EVO shift phone that I took today,

">IMAG0110_zpsa740b64c.jpg

IMAG0111_zps2ac07b0d.jpg

And here is a thread by @piplupgao  http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/47982-oh-apple/#entry637149 that was put up 3 days ago about his Apple ipad screen braking, and I quote "

I just dropped my iPad 2 feet onto carpet and the bottom corner cracked the annoying part it that I have dropped it from 3 feet onto pavement and it didn't crack"

So the conclusion of this, is does Apple really innovate or make good products at all? or Is it safe to say, that they make their products look pretty but in reality they are a cheap company that makes cheap none durable products and overprices them. I think that is a more accurate statement about their products.

A phone is not meant to be dropped or stamped on, just like a car is not meant to be crashed.

Surviving those occurrences unscathed is not a measure of build quality.

They have fitted a sample of the champagne back to a white iphone 5.

You are right, they are not meant to be dropped or stomped on, but like the link to a similar thread on here, accidents do happen, it's called human error. If your phone can not withstand a 1-3 foot drop one time, then in reality it is just a nice shiny, pretty phone that physically has crappy build quality, there is no other way around that and there is no way to justify it by saying the build quality is good.

It would be the same as if you rear ended a person going 5 miles an hour and your inter car feel apart or was useless after that. Everybody knows what the outcome of the crash would be if you were going 75 miles an hour and rear ended someone, just like if you dropped your phone from a 4 storey building.
