Why no threads about Fury X being better that 980 Ti now?

KarateHottie93

Can you guarantee my 980 Ti will OC well? Nope. Just wait. The Fury cards will just keep getting better.

if you buy an aftermarket 980ti that's already overclocked (which most people already do) then yes, its guaranteed to run at that clock speed that it comes with

so yes, it will perform better than the fury X

then on top of that, if you can overclock it even more (which about 95% of cards can do) then you get even more performance

Aftermarket 980ti is still the single GPU perform king. Still got the edge on the fury-x.

Across the rest of the product range though it's pretty much a clean sweep for AMD.

its only better than the stock 980ti

aftermarket or overclocked cards are still better

and since you cant OC the fury X it ends up performing worse

You cant oc the memory of the fury x, but you can oc the core.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

which leads to 2 fps improvement, while the 980 ti usually gains 10-15 fps (sometimes more)

I dont own any of those two cards. But i assume maxwell would overclock better.

who cares about fury or 980ti, waiting for pascal xD

Unless I get a 980ti for free or cheap. I'm holding out for pascal. 10X the performance. .. whaaaaa... even 2x performance is worth it.

Did you not bother scrolling down? I already talked about that to someone else.

right, the memory is locked, but so is the GPU voltage, and you can only get about 75-100MHz overclock

You can OC the memory on the Fury X. It doesn't make a difference, but you can.

I wouldn't call 100mhz a few when the base clock is 500. One of the cards I have will do 125, but 100 is closer to the average OC I've experienced.
