Which phone should i buy?

Just sold my s20 fe, now i need to choose an upgrade for a new phone. I had 2 options.

 

1 is a used samsung s20 ultra for $108, but heres the catch it has green lines right at the edge:

 

 

 

 

Or option 2 is a used s21 fe for $145, still in good condition

 

which one should i get?

I dont mind having those green lines though, since its right right at the edge of the screen and consider it has a bigger screen than the s21 fe, if i exclude the green lines it will still have bigger screen area than the s21 fe and i save $37. Or just get the s21 fe good condition phone with a better chip but worse camera?

i dont game much nor do i take pictures much all i want is a phone that can do basic task.

if you do basic tasks, then it could be determined by basic specs of each phone,

 

RAM size, storage, Android version, CPU, GPU, and other basic things

If you don't mind paying the extra money, I'd go with the 21 FE. Mostly because it will still receive software updates/support until next year.

 

Also you don't know what caused those green lines. Likely the phone was dropped, which could lead to some other problems down the line (broken solder joints maybe, if it was handled rough in general).

is 21 FE higher version of Android? if yes then that would be lowkey better choice, unless the other phone has some other useful hardware features for longevity spec wise

I looked it up, and it said that the S20 Ultra is end of support, but Samsung is still delivering quarterly security updates.

 

The 21FE will at least get Android 15, so it seems way better in that regard!

From what I've gathered in this compare, it's apparently true, that it goes up several more Androids in terms of support, 20 has almost double ram depending on type but at least they both have 128GB storage which is plentiful, despite 21 having potentially less RAM it does use slightly faster CPU I assume,

 

whatever feature matters most, I wouldn't really look at camera specs, 20-40-60 Megapixels, 60Megapixel camera can be worse than 20 Megapixel camera, it's not about specs always,

 

same with RAM, 6GB can be plenty, it's a phone not a Desktop PC

I bought the Samsung S20 Ultra a few months ago for fun (I'm an iOS boy).

The huge screen and stylus is a lot of fun.

 

It runs very, very smoothly so I think it is a negligible point that the S21 FE has a new chip.

Green lines usually means the screen is on its way out or that thing got dropped hard which is well another bad thing.

 

The s21 would win here by a landslide since it seems to actually just be a fully functional phone
