Yes, but Communism is much more than trade, it involves social, political and military aspects as well. But it is fair to say China is becoming less and less communist and more capitalistic.

The majority of Russian support Putin. They support the policies in Ukraine. Don't blame Putin. Blame the Russian people for whatever forces upon them from Kremlin.

What is bad is if they start a war (well a bigger conflict) we have to go to war against Russia due to out alliance with Ukraine

The majority of Russian support Putin. They support the policies in Ukraine. Don't blame Putin. Blame the Russian people for whatever forces upon them from Kremlin.

 

If you actually look into it, they may support Putin, but it doesn't mean they support the way in which he is leading the nation or his views entirely. Whether or not people like him, he has changed Russia. Poverty, murder rates, etc etc have all improved since he has become president, and I'm sure that's what they are voting for, rather than the previous leaders who are still struggling to lead in a post-Soviet world or because they believe Putin is the greatest thing since toilet paper. It seems more like a "lesser of evils" sort of thing.

Scandinavian countries are excercising a social democratic type of political structure.

Socialism is different from communism in that Socialism looks out of the weak, and let the strong fend for themselves. While communism, in the ideal setting, strives to make everyone equal.

 

Communism can be split in two.

The facist way - commonly called "communism"

and the Marxist way - commonly called Marxism

 

Marxism is perhaps the perfect way of living, but it is an utopian dream in terms of execution. It cannot be achieved aslong as humans are in reign.

Marxism, or "true communism" if you will, is based upon the principle that all citizens produce goods and resources which they give to the state and the state then gives it back equally. In theory this means that there would be no upper, middle or lower class. Everyone would be the same, everyone would have the ability and means to own the same.

however humans are greedy, and as such, this system never works.

 

Enter facist communism. This is when humans TRY to run things the way real communism is meant to be. For a while it works, then it spirals down into a cesspit of power abuse, persecution and excessive policing. This is essentially what happenened in USSR. It worked, for a short while, then it just plummeted to the ground and became a dictatorship.

 

 

Socialism however is based upon everyone giving to the state, the state then use these resources to help the weakest ones in society, and improve the public systems for the people as a whole. Socialism do not try to stop you from being a billionaire, it just taxes you harder so that % wise, you contribute as much from your income as the heroin addict who runs newspapers in the weekend does. That is not to say that you pay as much, you pay WAY more, but you are taxed based upon % of income, rather then simply say everyone need to pay this much a month.

 

Social democratic setups are where you have a underlying socialist state, who are then mixed in with the workings of a fully open democratic political system. This is how us scandinavians run things. We are socialists at the very core, but we are equally for the open free market. So while we have systems to help those in need, we also try as much as possible to promote the raw capitalist needs of the corporations and individuals who seek out enormous wealth.

 

Incidentally, Bernie Sanders, one of the politicians running for precidency in the US. Is a self proclaimed Social Democrat. His goals are to get similar systems as Scandinavia has in the US. Meaning, he is working for free college, free healthcare and other benefits.

 

When i say free, that means public stuff. Just like in the US, if you want to get the best doctors around you CAN go to a private clinic here in Scandinavia and pay big bucks to get treatment. You CAN also pay excessive amounts of money to go to private schools. They do exist even if there IS free education and free health systems in place.

Then again, nothing is really "free"... these systems are paid for by taxes... in grand total we pay 30-40% of our income + 25% of the price of almost anything we buy is pure taxes that goes to the government... So yeah, IT AINT REALLY FREE, you just do not have to pay extra amounts of money to have these services.

I am Georgian, not from USA Georgia under Caucasus mountains. in 1992 there was war with russia and we lost 20% of country teritory, 300 000 people lost their home including me. i lost my home (i was 1.5 years old) thanks god we got out alive (my family) then in 2008 was second war and we lost our teritories again! my country lost about 35% of it's teritory and russia is doing this. they move borders as they want. kidnap people and say that they crossed border (which does not exist) I know how devil is russia and putin and some people. but not everyone of them. they are just droven with this man (putin) he is like a devil for his nation and for rest of the world. Look what he did to my country, what he does to ukraine, to siria now.

There are basically three types of russians. First type blindly belives in communism and USSR. Second are sacred form regime/government and "support" their regime/government in fear for their and relative lives. Third just don`t care and don`t say anything or just lives on east russia ( Part of peopole are living like it was 1940`s/1950`s ).

Yes but the people would need to take extraordinary measures and you'll need to find enough people that care, like in the downfall of Ceaușescu (a Russian puppet) or the downfall of Pinochet (an American puppet).

There's very little that people can do with the current government systems in those countries and change and policy is dictated by powerful groups or individuals.

No, the biggest difference is between Russian and the USA is that while in Russia the country is controlled by the government, in the USA the country is controlled by corporations. Anyway, I'm glad I don't live in either of those countries.

.....you might want to do some reading, and re-evaluate that statement. Communism is FAR more than the elimination of a free market economy.

Maybe because communism has nothing to do with a country's economy type? Communism is just the idea of having everyone be socially equal.

if Western countries introduce sanctions cutting off the country from the internet,

putin is scared, or the people advising him are. either way, sounds to me like these decisions are coming from the fear of isolation.. maybe don't bully your neighbors and the rest of the kids in the yard might play nice?
