Short term

  •    Live with what I've got for now.

Medium term

  • Save up enough to build my first PC.
  • http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ddBzVn I'm not sure if I want the 27" version or the version I have in the list. Is a couple inches diagonally really worth it?

Indeed it is, I got two 8tb drives around 6 months ago to replace my previous pool of 4x 3tb barracudas and a 1tb blue as I had run out of sata ports.

Can't embed as I'm on my phone.

Consider paying an extra $10 for a 390x...

Oh, yes, that I would do. My main concern is that I'm able to Xfire. No performance reasons, just want two cards for the first time. That sounded dirty.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Storage spaces has been in consumer versions of Windows since 8.0, it was a godsend.

I could in theory build a nas with one of my spare server 2012 keys but I like to keep things local and tidy.

Shameless build plug.

Short Term (< 1 year)

New GPU

Long Term (probably 3+ years)

New display (1440p or maybe 4K, curved 21:9 IPS,  144 Hz 1 ms glass covered, 10 bit professional grade colour gamut, calibrated out of the box so I don't have to, etc... just all the things when it exists :))

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I'm gonna be running unbefitting GPUs in it for the time being, though; I'm going to upgrade to Pascal upon its release.

......OK, maybe not that extreme.

I do have a second 7770 coming through eBay soon enough, so I will be doing a little CrossFire experimentation.

Also HOLY SHIT THAT POWER SUPPLY. Nuclear reactor to power a farm or what? [emoji14]

In the next month or so, I plan to get myself an M-ATX Asus Z97 Gryphon Amror Edition Mobo and a Fractal Design Node 804 to turn my current build into a smaller, LAN friendly PC that still has some room for expansion when it comes to PCI expansion. Then some time next early next year, I plan to get a 980 or 980TI.
