Post your future rig plans!

Since parts would change drastically i'll be going for current equivalent of high/enthusiast end pc parts & one mini backup pc with current gen entry level grade PC.

Details separate people.

I had some grown up problems this year and had to push my 2015 CPU/MB upgrade into next year, which necessitates new RAM... and the GPU is showing it's age (though it does play Star Wars Battlefront Beta on Low Resolution at an barely playable frame rate so there is that!)  That made me push my total rebuild out a year to 2021 (Just in time for HL3 and Star Citizen), since I am putting in all new core components next year.

2010 Build $900

2012 RAM $75

2012 SSD $100

2013 HD7770 $100

2014 AIO $80

2014 Fans $80

2014 Case $70

2016 CPU $200

2016 MB $150

2016 RAM $150

2016 GPU $300

2017 SSD $200

2019 GPU $300

2021 Rebuild $1500

Short Term:

Well I'll have this one (Budget cuts all thanks to Philipines)

Gigabyte G1 Sniper A88X or ASUS B85 Pro Gamer

AMD A8-5600k or Intel core i5-4460

Radeon R7-260x

2x Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3 (or I should retain two of my Geil 4GB DDR3)

IF I would go with AMD, I would get a Deep Cool Maelstrom 120k (Philippines... don't ask why...)

The ones I didn't mention, I have them already

P.S. my core i5-3450 cpu died :c

you tried RMA I mean the Intel factory is only two islands away....

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

CPU: I'll wait for Zen or skylake ver. of 5820k (But most probably gonna go with the latter)

GPU: I'll wait for Pascal

RAM: I'll wait for the most recent RAMs available after I buy my CPU

PSU: Any tier 1 PSU that can satisfy the new GPU

MOBO: Depends on the CPU I end up with

SSD: 512GB Samsung 950 Pro

HDD: 3TB western or seagate / raid setup

I wonder if they will skip a thousand with that chip

The extreme series has always been a gen behind the chips in the same naming thing

5820k is devils canyon not broadwell

Oh yeah I forgot about the 5820k's gen. I guess any upcoming 6 core processor that'll be around the price point of the 5820k/6700k but for like $50-$100+ more.

I planned to upgrade to Z170 this summer but I don't.. probably due to leek of money and a good reason to do so - Currently still using and i7-2600. But never the less, I'm still planning to go Z170 either with 6700k or maybe something better (if there will be something better on Z170).

- Also planning on getting a second 780ti to get better 1440p performance.

- And my first custom water-cooling loop ^_^

But a bit off topic...

I want my own Turn-Table setup   Not super expensive... Have to look more into it.. maybe two RP-2000M.. I dunno.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.

Replace my tired Green drive for a SSD as a proper OS drive. Then perhaps replace speaker set up for a bookshelf system. I need at least a 200W system (which is what I currently have).

First: Finish my mITX build in a Corsair 250D (23 Oct)

Second: Repurpose current system to a file/sql/media server.

  • Remove gfx card
  • Replace drives with 4x4TB raid 5
  • Replace PSU with fanless one
  • Win 7 for WMC for recoding analog/clear QAM cable

Next dream: Custom case slung between rails of a glass-topped desk so all components are visible.

  • Zxxx chipset (or equivalent for AMD if they get their CPUs back into fighting shape)
  • 2x graphics cards using PCIe ribbon cables, mounted fan-side* up. Maybe SLI will be bridgeless by then, otherwise Crossfire
  • PCIe SSD, either off another ribbon cable or M.2
  • Optical drive
  • Water cooled (hence the asterisk on the graphics card entry) using PETG

here's the thing tho:

wanted a 1440p, 3D-ready (secretly hoped for IPS) monitor. was psyched to discover the ROG Swift despite the TN panel but then was gutted to find out G-Sync only does displayport 1.2 so the damn thing has no HDMI so I could hook up my consoles. on top, it has no scaling so that I could use an adapter. my Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii were recently evicted from the living room after PS4 became the last aesthetic drop for my wife and I still got a bunch of games I haven't even started

so yeah, the monitor is probably going to be the last thing to buy and will secretly hope for some miracle in the next couple of months from some monitor manufacturer. ROG Swift though is so damn sexy looking with the thin bezel and the absence of shiny plastic :(

Long term plans are 2 more 4K IPS 60hz diplays and maybe by then 2x next gen 1080 Ti's or whatever nVidia calls their step down GPU from Titan bleh.

Short term is 16GB more of DDR4 quad channel ram so I can have 32GB of ram.

Otherwise I have no fucking clue lol.

It will be a new series not 1080

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.
