A study just published by the Public Library of Science, conducted by Ethan Kross of the University of Michigan and Philippe Verduyn of Leuven University in Belgium, has shown that the more someone uses Facebook, the less satisfied he is with life.

The article is about people that spend most of their free time on facebook, so having it for something like school or work is a different matter.

I was never into facebook, tried google plus with a few of my friends and as far as i am concerned text messages and phone calls are best still.

I use teamspeak3, steam and text for my digital socialisation. I got facebook, but I only really use the chat as a supplement for those who can't text.

I think that is more about the individual person rather than Facebook being an issue. Its probably more the case that the more unhappy someone is with life the more they turn to things like Facebook. Its a symptom rather than a cause

I think constant social networking is bad for you in the context of you never having a sense of personal space...our minds are hardwired to be cut off from the world every now and then. It's like the husband and wife that are constantly around each other. Hmmm...any advice Linus?
