RX 6950 XT DirectX crashing

Specs:

GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon™ RX 6950 XT Black
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x
MBO: Asus Prime B550M-A
RAM: Kingston 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz
SSD: Lexar NM790 M.2 2TB & Kingston 1TB M.2
PSU: NZXT C850

So recently I built this pc. It was working fine but now all of the sudden some games crash randomly from DirectX or driver timeout crashes. I've tried reinstalling drivers and even reinstalling windows but it didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated.

What (if anything) changed since you built the PC?

 

New games?

 

New monitoring software?

 

Driver versions?

Ive had a rx 6600xt (which is now in 2nd pc and works flawless), changed the PSU from 650 to 850w. I still play the same games.

I updated to newest AMD driver 24.5.1.

No new devices.

PC still in same place and it doesnt overheat. GPU Hotspot at 85C and GPU at around 65-70C while gaming.

Ive tried a fresh windows install and DDU but it didnt fix anything. Sometimes games run for 10h without issue while sometimes they crash within 20 minutes. The biggest problem is Age of Empires 4 which crashes as soon as i try to load into campaign mission

Disable DOCP and test if the same happens.

Still same thing happends and i get the same error: RESULT = 0x887a0005 - The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action. Device removed reason = 0x887a0006 - The GPU will not respond to more commands, most likely because of an invalid command passed by the calling application.

The GPU power, are you using a single cable?

 

When replacing the PSU, did you perhaps keep the old cables?

 

Does your system crash Prime95 stability testing? Does Furmark crash? 3dmark?

Im using 2 cables. Each is supplying the 1x8 in gpu. Im using extensions tho, maybe there is a problem. The PSU is as old as the GPU. The GPU passed the benchmark but i havent stressed it over 1h

I tried without the extensions and it just keeps on happening. I guess this GPU is not fixable by me

Can you check the CPU for bent pins?

No bent pins. I put the GPU in another system and it behaves exactly the same. I did the DDU on another pc, put in the RX 6950 XT and installed fresh drivers. Downloaded AOE 4 and it was behaving the same crashing before getting into the missions. Giving out the same error. The thing is the GPU is bought in Germany and I'm from Croatia so IDK how does the RMA process go. Do I reach out to the XFX or the site I bought the GPU from? Cause it seems its a lost cause.

You can contact the Croatian importer / official service and ask if the German warranty is valid here too. I'm not sure about XFX, but I know some manufacturers have global warranties, some consider the EU as the same market while others leave it up to the importers. Worst case you'd have to send the card to Germany to their importer, service, or the store you've bought from. The shipping to Germany is still cheaper than a new card.

That is true, I can always give it to a friend so he takes it to Germany. Btw my other pc is having a weird issue aswell. I even tried reinstalling windows but it keeps happening. Sometimes when i start the PC the windows loads but I cant open any programs or files. It just keeps spining. But if i restart the PC and open task manager fast, everything loads in second and works fine. Idk what could be the issue.

EDIT: It does open This PC and I can go tru all folders and stuff. Can't open any programs tho.

What are the specs of the other PC? That seems like a software issue at first, but if it happens on clean Windows it probably isn't.

Have you checked your storage devices with Hard Disk Sentinel?

Btw, many of us in Croatia have a friend or relative working/living in Germany, some of us even lived there for some time, so I know how it is. XD

Other PC specs are Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6600XT, 16GB DDR4,650W PSU, 500GB M.2, 500GB Sata, 1TB HDD

This started happening recently, if I quickly press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and open task manager Windows operated normaly so i would say its software issue. If i dont do that then the windows doesnt load the startup programs, I cant turn off the pc from desktop or open any programs. Only thing i can do is go tru the folders.
