R9 270 CPU pairing

Right now my system is running an AMD a4-6300 and a MSI Radeon R9 270 card. I was wondering if upgrading to an amd athlon x4 860k would be worth it. Would an FX 6300 be better for gaming than the athlon.

Save for an i5, don't waste your money on a CPU that's only a little better. Even the 6300 is barely better.

You would gain some better single-core performance but biggest upgrade is clearly the two extra cores!

But that CPU you HAVE is a FM2 CPU not FM2+ are you sure the board can use FM2+? Cause if it is FM2+ then the best you can get is Athlon X4 760K!

i5 4460 is the optimal though even an Athlon 860K won't be an issue. The only bad option I can think of is the G3258 - dual cores are dead.

If you plan to upgrade the cpu within the next 8 months, a g3258 is a decent choice. But you sacrafice so much for it, that it should basically only be used as a place holder until you can get a big boy cpu. (Upgrade would be to an i3 or i5)

Nowadays Games are required more cores, 2 Cores isn't enough anymore. i3 is the best option for Budget mid gaming rigs.

160 gor the cpu and motherboard together. But if I have to up to $200. Also if I can I would like to overclock.
