WARNING: Frozen Soda Explodes

Guest Philosophy

I went out to get a pepsi from my outdoor fridge. My parents were here and wanted one, I took the frozen one my dad looks at me and says open that in the sink frozen soda explodes. I popped the lid heard a sound literally as loud as a gunshot (I would know) and I looked down the can was mushroomed out and my thumb was bleeding really bad.

Photo of the mushroomed can + injury would have made this a lot more interesting.

Don't have the can anymore. I have my thumb...

VERY GRAPHIC (BLOOD IS SHOWN). USER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.

Never put non-alcoholic drinks in a container in a freezer to begin with.

Unless its a glass one, from my experience putting the glass bottles of Coke in the freezer for like 30 mins or so makes it a really really really good slushee like drink when you take it out and pop the cap ^_^

I would not put in the freezer, but the fridge must have been extra cold.

Is it like one of those garage freezers that no one checks on for like weeks at a time?

At my uncle's one time we left some cans in the garage fridge and they were frozen when we went to go get them, wasnt cold out either, was middle of summer.
