Sapphire R9 390 Nitro poor performance

jfd

I have a Sapphire R9 390 Nitro 8GB card and having some trouble getting it to perform right.

For example if i run Furmark it gives me the same result that i get with a R9 280x with the same settings.

And the memory clock is set at 1500MHz but it should be at 6000MHz. Memory clock has been confirmed from MSI Afterburner, Catalyst Control Center and GPU-Z so there is no software error.

While the card has two bios (UEFI and LEGACY) neither of them aren't working. Card box clearly states that this card supports Windows 10.

Drivers have been updated from the AMD website, from the original disk and via Windows 10.

Anyone?

Thanks!

1500MHz is correct. It's X4 for GDDR5.

Did you reinstall drivers?

Yea I did uninstall catalyst and drivers, then download latest catalyst and installed drivers. I know that Windows 10 has some driver issues but this GPU is marked as compatible

Don't run furmark unless you want to end up with a bricked power delivery system like me.

Well this PC has i5-2500k but it is not a bottleneck becase when running stress test it's not using 100% of CPU power

Thermaltake 1200W, more than enough, worked with three R9 280Xs

Run 3D mark and compare the score with others who have the same GPU

Also what PSU

Well that still dosen't explain why games aren't working...

Use the latest AMD driver, it's obviously something on your end.

I don't think that makes diffrense becase games aren't working and MSI kombustor isn't giving high enough fps.

It's not a bad card - a bad card would artifcat/crash.

Open GPU-Z and compare the BIOS to the one(s) listed here

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?did=1002-67b1--2015,1002-67b1--22bd,1002-67b1--2358,1002-67b1--9390,1002-67b1--e324

If the BIOS is wrong, RMA your card or try risk updating it yourself.

If BIOS is correct, then you are doing something wrong.
