Intel Showcases Sub-1cm Depth All-In-One PC With 4K Screen

The guys at Nordichardware spotted this mysterious all-in-one from Intel at IFA 2015 that stands as a showcase for the capabilities of today’s computing circuits and components layout in an ultra-thin form-factor that crams everything in a panel-shaped computer that’s only 1cm thick. It seems the system is passively cooled and can hold a large Full HD to 4K screen. Connectivity-wise its seems that it is equipped with one USB Type-C connector and a mini-HDMI connector.

Not much is known about the performance specs of the machine, and while Intel keeps everything under wraps is hard to pin point the exact performance of the machine. However, what impresses us is that Intel managed to place an entire system in a form-factor that resembles a devices slimmer than a painting panel board, while also holding a 4K screen.

Wow! Now this is impressive considering its form factor. I reckon this will be a viable option for home PCs and with the market of 4K displays gradually expanding to more audiences, this PC might be something to look forward to.

This video, that's unfortunately in Swedish, showcases the new PC. The guy in the video states that an Intel rep told him all parts were 100% Intel-made and is 100% passively cooled.

"passively cooled", well hopefully they do that right as most passively cooled laptops and tablet things (apple) throttle like crazy, but if you make it that thin it's not like a fan would fit, just hope its good as I like intel based stuff

these look quite sexy and i think embeding this into a table or desk would be sweet to make a smart coffe table or something... just needs to have a larger screen but the whole table computer thingy is gunna be sick looking when this stuff starts rolling...

all i can imagine is playing dnd with actual figures instead of on paper maps on a digital map. but i wont take away rolling real die just cause thats one of the joys of it i feel.... and if its touch with pen support which i think it should be then you could have one sweet doodle pad for the kids or something... ahh the future of smaller tech is amazing if people dont abuse it to invade privacy...

Impressive. But I don't think the price is gonna justify the tech right now, maybe if you're filthy rich. Great tech though, hopefully something economical will get out of this in the future.
