Out of curiosity - What brand video card are you using in your main gaming machine?

Sammael

Everything about the 82:18% market share is blown out of proportion - I believe there was a legit source that proved that the market at the moment is 76% for Nvidia and 24% for AMD - not the eerie figures that the fancy shiny chart had. Not sure who had the anaylisis tho.

Do we know exactly what was meant by those figures?  Is that 76% of gpus currently in use?  Or 76% of current gpu sales/shipments?  Because if it's merely the latter, that does not translate into a direct marketshare cut of what people are actually using, because people have cards from years before.  I'd imagine a large number of people are still using 7970 cards.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

It's units sold I believe - units in use is the steam survey.

R9 290 Vapor X

I have a 290 but the worst kind.  Stock, and purchased in the middle of the mining boom, so I both paid more for mine and got a weaker version.  Looking forward to arctic islands next year.  Still serves well enough though.

I'm also looking forward to artic Island. I'm going to buy 2 of that line-up top cards what ever they're named then buy 2 Ek waterblocks and backplates and liquid cool then because i'll go with my Artic Fox Rig That's Based of a White and black Theme. So I will have White liquid, and it'll be in the Nzxt Noctis so it'll look so great.

I can get it to 1160 Core and 1550 Mem. Sure it's not an Nvidia overclock up it's something. Plus it's on air.

Yeah like you have to think about the Vapor-x model was shipped already at an 1030 core and 1400 Mem so I got an Extra 130 on the Core and 150 on the Mem and compare it to the reference R9290 that Ran up to 947Mhz I believe it was.

Neh reference models thermal throttles so bad that no one uses it for comparison

I wasn't using it for that type of comparison lol I was just showing the differences in clock speeds. Trust and believe me I know that the reference R290 series was hitting 95 faithfully.

well.... unless you mess with the fan profile.... I'm the crazy person who OCd my reference 290 to 1180Mhz (fan speed was set to 80% to keep it around 70C, so jet engine level but it worked) 60% fan speed keeps it around 85 and is much kinder to the ears
