Posted September 9, 2015 Hi, I just got a new pc with Windows 10 and I don't want it to be filled with viruses. I don't have money for an antivirus, so I'd like to use some free options. I was originally thinking about Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, because these don't need a lot of power and Windows Defender is already built-in. What do you think? What do you use? Thanks in advance, zbarni21
Posted September 9, 2015 windows defender seems to be pretty good, I also use Malwarebytes and also Superantispyware. Both are free and both seem to find bits that the other doesn't. Posted September 9, 2015 Im sure all major protection software is compatiblewith Win 10 by now. I use Avast and malwarebytes. Been doing so for years and never had a problem. When u are being careful with what u click on (steam and fb often gets hacked and spams malicious links using your friends accounts) thats the best protection u can have. Most people agree on malwarebytes but u are not gonna get similar answer for antivirus. People argue about them all the time. Making a poll could help u decide Connection: 200mbps / 12mbps 5Ghz wifi My baby: CPU - i7-4790, MB - Z97-A, RAM - Corsair Veng. Posted September 9, 2015 Well you can use Windows Defender, it's not the best anti-virus, but it's light. The "Best Anti-Virus" is your head, don't download craps and you should be fine. If you think the link is suspicious then don't click it. I use Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, but Malwarebytes should do fine. Also installing EMET would be nice. If I pay for my Anti-Virus, I'd go either Norton or Kaspersky. For browser, use adblocker like AdBlockPlus or uBlock (I use uBlock) and use something like NoScript to block script unless you allow them. If you want to install something, if you have 2 options like Express Install and Advanced Install, choose Advanced Install because most "Express" Install would install bunch of bloatwares. @Mike_The_B0ss He's too damn good with this.
