3gb RAM, 64gb ROM, 24 MP camera unlocked smartphone for under 400?!

So, I was browsing the internet today and I came across this new product from BLU products: http://www.bluproducts.com/index.php/pure-xl
I had the older model which is still available at amazon for 6 months, but ended up selling it to get the new G4. If any of you know more about this product, please post down below!!!

It'd be great if we could get Linus to do a review on it, wouldn't it?!

But im only talking about the Low end products. BLU did make the thinnest phone on the market for like 2014 or 2015 I don't remember. They have some good flagships and that looks pretty good

specs look awesome but remember a 2k diaply will eat your battery andit only has 3500 mAh

Sounds sketchy, but this phone looks pretty clean on the outside that is!

The cpu in it is real bad especially in single core performance.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

Internal bandwith most likely. The 1080p/ 30FPS barrier were huge obstacles even for Nikon and Canon just 3 years ago, smartphones are even more cramped. Some smaller brand DSLRs and consumer cameras got around it by having one or more processors devoted to live compression to get around it. (Which is lossy) Any smartphone that does at this point I bet is doing something similar, probably why so many smartphones these days have what seems to be a stupid amount of cores and heat up like crazy when capturing video.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

The phone has 8 freaking cores. No excuse to not be able to do 60fps or 4K.

Yeah, it is an excuse. Well, for 4K anyway, though 60 FPS 1080p is doable, but not easily. Go get some 4K RAW footage then use your own i7-4790 to convert it to H.264 or H.265 at 50-60mbps and measure the time it'll take.

Hint: it'll take longer than a 1:1 ratio between the runtime of the clip and real-life passed time to compress it.

And that is a desktop processor way ahead in brute force.

Which is the issue. You have to find a balance between compression ratio and internal bandwith so you can capture at a decent FPS. You'll either have to buffer it in RAM, (which means maybe a 10 second capture limit if you're lucky) have a dedicated video buffer on the SOC, (not feasible in a phone) a dedicated CPU for live video compression, (not really feasible on a phone yet) or just groundbreaking bandwith (possible for a handful of mega-companies)

Or a cajiggery combination of several of the above.

The processor seems to be on par with an 810 according to geekbench.

All the specs are amazing, but there are two problems that I'm having with this phone:

1. 6 Inch display? That's just way too big for my taste.

2. What about the software? Specs don't tell everything and bad software is just a real deal breaker for me. That's why I have a Nexus ;)

You are not comparing an apples to apples comparison.

You are comparing a software solution (intel desktop cpu) vs hardware solution.

A more fair comparison would be utilizing quick sync which is a hardware solution.

I aldo not understand why you say it is not feasable in a phone. SOC (System on chip) for phone has fixed hardware that do h.264 encoding even on tegra 2 (though it can only do baseline).

modern SOC like tegra K1 can even do H.264 Hi10p 1080p without any issues.

I thought this would be cool at first, but after looking at the sheer size of the device it got a huge fail for me. It's huge. Like noticeably larger than the Nexus 6 huge.

With all that extra space they could only fit in a 3500mah battery? And it still weighs over 200g? Something's wrong there.

It's solidly in mid range now, with a lot of fierce competition. Too bad Oppo price the R7 Plus so high, it'd have it easily beaten.

Not always true. At all.

Take a look at the Note 5. 1440p display, awesome battery life, smaller cell.

Except you lose a lot of band compatibility...

Plus horrible reviews.

The phone has 8 freaking cores. No excuse to not be able to do 60fps or 4K.

It has nothing to do with the SoC, but perhaps something to do with the companies version of the software.

The SoC can handle 4k fine.
